Okay, that does it. I found my next car.
I can't take it. I'm not going to bother registering over at Club Si to give those morons the satisfaction. As far as Dodge having reliable engines and the "friend" with a 220,000 mile turbo'd Dodge, this is the exception rather than the rule. The 2.2L Dodge turbo was a mediocre engine at best. The cylinder walls were so thin they couldn't stand up to stock boost from the factory let alone someone upping the boost. My mechanic had a line of 2.2L cylinder heads on his shelf in his shop. Every single one of them had a crack in between cylider #2 and #3. Another problem they had was with the integrated wast gate. I think that Garrett and Mits make good stuff, but that sounds like an equipment problem. That doesn't sound like info you would get from Sport Compact Crap. You kids need to stop taking the info you get off or hot beds of intelligence like Club Si as gospel and get out in the real world. The only bull **** I agree with that was posted up there was that 90% of people do not know how to properly maintain a turbo. One more thing and then I'm done. If Dodge has done such a bang up job with Turbo cars, why did it take them so long to bring out another one. And the PT cruiser from crying out loud.

The block is cast iron, closed deck, and the cylinder walls are a good 3/8" thick. About the only thing the *block* won't stand up to is a small nuclear blast.

Remember a few from the late 80's? The LeBaron for starters. Not only did they have weak/pooly made turbos. They had very fragile heads that were prone to craking. The only decent Chrysler turbo in the 80's was the Conquest, and that was a DSM. If they got all the turbo issues under control, it will definately be interesting. I would be more prone to stick with a company with a proven history with turbos, like Mits, Subaru, or VW.

hp per liter???? you gotta be kidding me - that's the most worthless statistic evAr! what the hell is that supposed to prove?
I'm actually more impressed by handling abilities, which the SRT-4 is pretty strong in, and torque, which it's very strong in, considering no other compact even comes close to those numbers. And no, I do not have any desire to own an SRT-4, but I would certainly choose it over an RSX.
