gah, its a drag race, no fun. Crazy civic though. Must have really beefed up internals. Its too bad he doesn't have a wing and a body kit for some extra powar and downforce.

Sorry to chime in so late in this thread. I'm the owner/driver of the Civic in question. I wasn't running 27psi in that vid -- more like 22psi. At 22psi I was putting down about 430hp to the wheels, but it looks like it wasn't enough to overcome the 580whp from the Viper, despite being almost 1000lbs heavier. Last weekend my motor blew up (cracked a sleeve) from running 27psi and a 75 shot of nitrous. Apparently stock sleeves don't like that kind of cylinder pressure. Guesstimated output at time of failure is about 560-570hp at the wheels. The car is back up and running with a new shortblock... I still need some Golden Eagle sleeves or something so I can run nitrous. For now though, I guess I'll just stick with 27psi.

CheeseFrog,
Much props to you. I saw your posting on honda-tech with the guy who helped you build your motor and the guy with the Viper, by the way how is Albert's Viper doing? Do you know? I understand his car on nitrous runs 9s @ 1000HP too, right? But he wasn't on it in the video apparently.

Much luck to you with getting your motor fixed... and that's one sick Civic you have regardless of the results with the Viper.

Everytime I see things like this I can't wait until next month when I do my RSX Type R swap. I'm going to take it to Inline Pro in VA

He's running that thing with a stock DX exhaust?! That has to be producing some major backpressure. Wouldn't bigger piping open up quite a few more horsies at 22-27 psi?

It's actually a stock DX muffler... not piping from what I've seen. And I could be wrong (as I can't really speak for cheesefrog) but there might just be a backpressure issue.
