Mitsu 3000GT Question
I was wondering how the 4 wheel steering worked on the VR-4s. Just something that's been getting to me and haven't found a good explanation.

they turn, but don't think they turn as much as the fronts. the amount they turn is barely, if even, visible to the human eye.

there's a new truck that has this on it as well...Chevy I believe... saw the commercial where he tries to back a trailer into a tight spot and the wheels turn the opposite way .....
Edited to change Dodge to Chevy ... Thanks Injen

the rear wheels turn juss a lil bit in the opposite direction of the front wheels being turned. this gives better turnability, n the best in parkin lots... haha especially if ur tryna steal sum1's spot. my friend drove hi sister's car which was a '90 prelude 4ws, and he parked with ease.

The 3000GT may be a different story however. While the Silverado's 4 wheel steering was made for maneuverability in tight spaces, the 3000GT was obviously designed for agility. For this reason the 3000GT's system may move significantly less than the truck.

Actually, the back wheels turn in the opposite dirrection as the front wheels. Think about it, if they turned the same way you'd go sideways like a crab.

Let's just say there's 4 wheel steering, two steering wheels, and two drivers.... haha You guys might as well just stick around that site after you look at the video, funny stuff galore

The Prelude SH had ATTS, not 4WS. The 3rd Gen and some 4th gen Ludes had 4WS. For 3000GT the 4WS only comes on after a certain speed.... and there are reasons why they stopped making that.

That's what I though on the steering. I asked because I see a few VR-4s every now and then turning and never see the rear wheels turning. So it must be a very minimal amount of turning that they do.
Curioiusfish, the 3000GT's 4WS came on VR-4s until 1999 when the model was discontinued.
