I consider giant spoilers, large amounts of stickers, neons, really super load exhausts to be rice. Thats me nomatter what little thing you do or don't do someone will call you a ricer. You own a Civic and it comes with the territory. So i suggest you purchase some wheel balancing weights. When the a$$ walks away place a bunch on the bottom of one of his front tires. That will throw the balance way off.

Chances are if you can buy it at pep-boys or wal-mart, then its probably rice.
APC = biggest rice manufacturer in the world.
Buying an exhaust tip cause you cant afford the entire exhaust system is rice. (unless it comes from the factory) You get -2 points if it also has LED's in it.
Winsdhield banners that proclaim how small your d**k is are total rice - 5 points. If its there because a company pays you to have it there, then +2 points. If you win anything because of those parts +6.
Blinking valve stem caps (lets not even go there....) you lose so many points for this there is NO chance of retibution.
Washer nozzles with LED's in them. See item above this one.
Stickers, where do we start with this? Sponsors = good. Parts you do not, nor ever will = bad. Truth- Although there has been much discussion and butt dyno testing performed, stickers do NOT actually raise your horsepower and/oir torque. However, NOS engine boost treatment DOES. (disclaimer: Holley does not guarantee their posted performance gains form using this product and in some case have been shown to actually decreas the performance of a vehicles engine.)

Rice= generic term referring to cars with tasteless mods or add-ons such as shaky, rattling 5"-fart exhaust tips, giant aluminum park benches mounted on top of the trunklid, fug-ugly dim altezzas taillights, unnecessary, tacky neon lighting, fake blue xenons, ugly bodykits, and stickers (my Honda friends tell me that those "DOHC VTEC" stickers increased their hp about 5 after having dynoed
). But yes, some people will immediately label any Honda as "rice" . j/k.

Well of course it is all opinion, as everything else in this world is, but...........we have to draw a line. Those "park-bench" spoilers (that was hilarious by the way, whoever said that) look good on only some cars........and are functional on RWD cars not Fwd cars (if you don't know why do a search:_doh. The Aluminum GT wings just got waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy out of control. It became ridiculous. I don't know if I would call it rice I would just say.....enough is enough with these things! Something that I haven't heard anyone call "rice" is color scheme. Some color schemes are rice to me........Like green and red or like yellow and purple. Believe me I have seen it at shows. Honestly I would consider anything rice that is just too LOUD, without justification. If you have a $1200 ABFLUG Aluminum Wing on your 500 horsepower TT RX7, i wouldn't call it rice. If you have a $99 Ghetto Aluminum Wing on your 93 4 door civic with just the unpainted front bumper on and indiglo Honda Emblems with LED washers and powered by MUGEN shoulder pads to finally top it off with your LED exhaust tip................THATS RICE!
But yes...........To each his own.
If your Indiglo Honda emblems make you as happy as as set of JDM OEM Type R emblems go for it.

I guess it all depends on taste though...
There's white rice, brown rice, jasmine, basmati, and let us not forget Uncle Ben and his lovely minute rice. All hold very nutritional value which of course leads to increased performance.

also, dont listen to that "to each his own bullshit".
I mean fawk, If i walked into a room and saw some juy jacking it to ****, Im gunna laugh and make fun on him. You may say "well it makes him happy, so let him do what he wants to do. To each his own."
But that doesnt mean I dont have the right to mock and humiliate him for it. Same goes for taste.

Keep things simple, not to wierd.
2 general giudelines fro modification are:
1. You should not deafen small children with your car.
2. Your wing should be no bigger than a 747.
I think pasteing uncooked rice on your paint would be wierd, yet cute. But for all extensive purposes, just think hard about things before you go for it. Simplicity will almost always beat out excentricity.
Holy Jebus Dr5D, your harsh.
Holy overdone paint batman, that car looks like floresents day at the men's spa.
