Keyless entry question?
Thought of adding keyless entry to my 2K1 LX Civic sedan. My question - Let's say you leave you car running and lock the doors to go into the house. Will you still be able to unlock the car with your second keyless fob? Was not sure if the key being engaged in the ignition would deactivate the keyless entry feature.
Thouht of asking the dealership sales people but I doubt that any of them would actually know the answer! I know that HandA still had the keyless for $120 last time I checked.

I think that the only way that you can lock your doors while the key is in the ignition is by the inside door lock button. Thats only when the doors are closed. My fiance has an Accord 2001 V6 and I cant lock the doors from the outside while the key is in the ignition. Just get remote start that way you don't have to go to your car to turn it on and you don't have to worry about locking the keys in the car.
Anyways like i said I don't think that you can lock the doors from the outside while the key is in the ignition.

no you wont be able to unlock your doors with the key fob when the key is in the ignition. in my opinion, i would rather get an aftermarket keyless entry system with an alarm.

well no depending on who you know and what kidna system you have in it ... factory .. yeah you can but its difficult .. wouldnt suggest doing it .. second if its aftermarket yes you can .. DEI calles it AWD ... Armed while driving .. since hte system only sees ingition .. you just have to press the lockl button a few seconds longer ..
The remote start that I have (Viper 550ESP) if you accidently start your car yes car can shut it off. If you start your car and don't know that you did it will turnoff after 12 min.
