BP and Phillips are not the same!
S2000 said in this thread:
"Amoco gets foreign gas, but Bp/phillips does not? Uh, dude, they're part of the same company, and get their gas from the same places."
Now, I'm not going to argue about the post that I made. I just hadn't seen it before and thought it was interesting.
However, S2000 has a point and is also wrong. If this is old info, then maybe the data is not 100% accurate. BP and Amoco have merged, so they are one company now. With that said, S2000's statement makes sense, since both companies were in different categories. However, BP and Phillips are two different companies. Conoco merged with Phillips last year to form ConocoPhillips.
So, you have BPAmoco and ConcocoPhillips - Two separate companies. Conoco and Phillips were both in the category that doesn't import oil, but like I said, I'm not going to argue that.
Another thing that wouldn't make sense about the whole deal is this: ConocoPhillips runs about 1900 ExxonMobil stations in the U.S. It's kind of an oxy moron. It's like they're saying "Our company doesn't import oil and gas, but we own gas stations of companies that do".
Not trying to spur any arguments. Just wanted to clear the confusion. I guess I should have paid a little more attention to what it was all saying because whoever wrote that obviously made some errors and it's outdated.

It's not any different than any other thread. Let's say you know alot about turbos for example. You make a post, give some information. A mod comes alongs, says that's wrong, and locks the thread. Now, are you going to just sit there, when you know your information is correct, letting everyone believe that whatever the mod said is true.
I could care less whether I'm right or wrong. It's the f*****g internet. I was just trying to keep you guys informed.
Basically, by me not responding to his statement and correcting it, you're saying I should just believe everything someone says because if they said it, well then it must be true.

What's funny is how you guys are acting like these threads are worthless, yet you're taking the time to read and respond to them.

Actually I knew BP and amaco were the same, I had just read the original thread and took from what the original poster had said... which was that BP and Phillips were the same.
