As if there wasn't already enough....
aftermarket support for the 6th gen civic, Area 51 has successfully swapped a K20 type R motor into a 97 civic hatch. It is in the newest (march 03) issue of turbo magazine. 194.9 horsepower to the wheels in stock trim and 13.2 in the quarter mile with a full interior. the kit is under $600 and for $1100 you can get a custom header with it that bolts up to the stock civic exhaust. they are in the middle of plans for a turbo with that swap as well.

the K20A was only 3100???? are u sure, not even the B18CR or B18C5 is that cheap
but damn 13.2 with swap done, with only going the NA route the car can be even with/beat z06's and new cobras. not to mention viper's (all car's stock of course)

umm. a z06 turns mid 12s stock, so you might need to do a little bit to that k20, not saying it can't run with a z06, but not stock. 13.2 on just a swap is awesome though without a turbo.[hr]
