Very important question about break-in (must see)
i was sitting around at home, nothing to do
and reading some stuff on a site, and then i find this, and there is a big question on "easy break-in" or "hard break-in"
and i still don't know which is the right way(or maybe both way is good) and i just have no idea...........
and i read almost the whole page here ------>mototuneusa.com and that guy seems to know some real stuff
and now....i am very very confuced
what do u all think???

That brings up some good points, never thought of it that way. I don't know if its all true or not. When I broke in my engine, I did a "medium" break in and changed to synthetic at 10,000mi.
that second site though is for motorcycles... it may be a different scenario for cars
edit: juss read the top... "Street or Race Motorcycles, cars, Snowmobiles, Airplanes & yes ...
even Lawn Mowers !! "

I think that first thread really applies to peeps who just re-built their engine which is going to be different when buying it with a brand new car. When you rebuild, you typically have to hone down the cylinder walls(sorta like sanding them in a cross-hatch pattern) to remove any high spots and carbon deposits. This is why he states that you should run it hard so the rings and other parts mate up for good compression. But that doesnt neccesarily mean he's right. Break-in methods all vary depending on who you talk to. I've heard of peeps who run the engine up to 5K after priming and warming up the engine to seat the rings then change to oil after 20 minutes. So it all really depends on who you talk to.
