"I stop at a red light next to a blue, stock looking Mustang, one of the ulgy, late 80's body, kinda like the one Notfred has.
I'm in my '98 Civic EX auto (127 HP) - only mods are hacked airbox (+5 hp), 30% tint, and my sound system.
He starts to rev, and I'm like, wtf... he wants to run?" HACK AIRBOX +5HP!?!??!! So then a Cold Air intake should give us 30+ according to this logic? SOME PEOPLE?!

I don't think he is joking. I know LOTS of people who think you can do EXACTLY what he said and get those kind of gains. I had old friends coming up to me after I got my CAI and asking me if I can feel all the horsepower I got from it....

The best part is when the guy tells him to add a sticker for +10 hp and like 4 different people go... "are you serious?" , "are you kidding or are you serious, I hope your kidding"

Not giong to name names, but this reminds me of a certain other member on this forum who claimed to get 12+ hp from his CAI.
Maybe they are relatives.

Yea, haha only 12HP from a cai lol he must have gotten an OBX because i got the full 20HP+ from my AEM CAI
, but then i figured if all the mods we do that increase air flow = gain in hp why not just take off the intake and exhaust manifolds completely. Direct air in...direct air out. No restrictions at all. By my estimates i think i'm pushin about 800+HP and that's RWHP not at the crank. what do you guys think.
PS I did lose a little bottom end....actually i have to get a push start now, but since i reset the rev limiter to 20,000RPM it really pulls from the 15,000RPM on up
EVERYONE should try it

Wow I never knew weight reduction comes in stages like a turbo kit! Lol
I wonder what's stage 2.....CF hood, 2 15's....stickers...
"He starts to rev, and I'm like, wtf... he wants to run?"
"So technically, he won but I didn't know he was gonna race"
Hmm...perhaps the fact that he reved it you, that it would indicate he wants to race you?

Yeah... taking out the subs is serious weight reduction from stock. I wish my car came with subs stock. And that backseat of FOAM weights at least five pounds. So thats what... half a hp. What a tool.

He appears to be a 14 year old who doesn't drive and wishes he had a car. On top of that he doesn't know vic parts very well. To him, cars are like legos; just keep adding stuff on to make it better!!! (Like cold and warm air intake?!?!?
