Civic vs RSX

I've noticed something. At least in my area, Acura's are never advertised! I never see anything about them, I never hear anything about them and stupid Consumer Reports never says anything about them. So i bought a civic. I was happy with my civic till I saw that I could have gotten an RSX and how nice it is! Please, console me and give me reasons to be happy I have my 2002 ex civic instead of a 2002 rsx.

i think rsx looks funny from the outside, but it sure does have a nice interior, and its engine is better, of course

Feel better that you didn't pay 23k for a car that performs like a GS-R.

I guess that makes the Civic ugly since their built on the same chassis?

I traded up to the base from my 7th gen and im very happy with the extra features ive gotten with it, namely auto climate control and the extra hp.

And I dont need to hear "you shouldve gotten a Type S", I had a Type S, and my EG hatch gave it a raping. For a daily driver the only thing the Civic has over the RSX is a little bit higher gas mileage. Whereas I could go 300-325 a tank in my EX, I can only get 250-275 in my RSX.

Just to make you happy, A few weeks ago, on my way home from San Diego, a little blue RSX came flying up behind me. So being a long drive from San Diego to Las Vegas, I decided to have some fun with the guy to pass the time. well basically, he passed me, I passed him ect for about an hour. just basic tag throug traffic, which it's self was doin 80. Finally I get ahead of him and think "I wonder how fast this guy is willing to go" so, in the next break in traffic I start to push it. Shure enough, he's right on my tail. I took it up to 120 before I slowed for the traffic ahead. after that we lost eachother in traffic for a while. finally the traffic brakes up a bit, and he happens to be right in front of me. so he starts pushing it. he slowed at 100, so I stayed with him. Pretty much I messed with this guy for about 3 hours on the freeway, He looked very angry that a little civic could keep up with him.

So in the end, the civic and the base line RSX arn't that much different at their top end. off the line he would have had me. but when allready crusing, that little bit of extra Hp makes little difference, especially with the RSX weighing about 200Lb's more then the civic.

OF course if it was a Type S I would have gotten my *** handed to me.

er. I'd take a manual base RSX over my ex coupe 5spd anyday of the week.

I dont want to deal with the insurance.. but its a better car IMO.

but yeah to make u feel better... er.. the civic has better mileage..
and er.. what else? I duno. is there something else? I think it has a higher crash rating... umm.. its cheaper? yeah. thats it.

I'll take a civic and eat it alive on my rsx anyday I don't want to bash the civic but they are after all on a different category than the rsx.

I guess that depends on the driver. I have this chick in one of my classes and I pulled here base RSX (auto). I have an EX with exhaust (if you want to get silly then I also have a body kit, and rims so what another 20 to 50 HP:laugh I do think if she knew how to drive then I would lose.

Thers is a term for it. Buyers remorse. Deal with it.

The only way to avoid this is to do proper investagating into the product you are looking to buy. RESEARCH

Remember there is still the 33hp difference between a base RSX and the Civic EX. Same thing with base RSX folks wanting to beat the Type S. They are in a different league. An auto with I/H/E exhausts on a dynapack posted 137.5 whp. Your correct if you go against somebody who don't know how to drive irregardless if they drive a Camaro they will surely lose. Or you can say they were'nt stepping on the gas that's why you won..hehehe...

Anyways the civic is a great platform with plenty of great mods out there unlike the base rsx which is in badly need of some serious performance mods. I used to have a civic and now have switched to the rsx. I don't see a reason why we all can't get along... We're all part of the same Honda Family. We buy Honda because we like to mod.....

Ok, the base RSX is basically the Civic SI, but with a slightly different tuned engine. Both cars would romp on the Civic coupe (already had this discussion in the street encounters). Aside from that, Hondata has recently released a flash for the RSX and Si which should add another 15-25 hp depending on mods. Next time watch out for those base RSX.
