Mini Cooper or Bug for gf
My gf wants to get a new car...what should she go with a beetle or a mini cooper, and why?

Cooper! Everytime I see a bug, it causes intense feelings of anger and rage. I feel the constant need to run them off the road... Get the cooper. I think "What the hell is that peice of trash?" when I see one instead of "Get that peice of sh*t off the road or I'm gonna run you down."

Cooper for every reason. The turbo s is a nice bug, but not for long! Those things have horrible reliabilty. I know from a couple girly friends I'm aquainted with. The cooper is just boatloads of fun, even magazines love it

I used to work for VW and I gotta tell you that they really arent built that well. They have alot of problems too...ELectrical and stupid build quality issues. So far I really haven heard anything about the mini cooper....but I like them....Just keep in mind that the cooper is tiny...and probably not that safe when it comes to car accidents. I know thats not something you want to think about when purchasing a new car but you gotta keep in mind that too.

I think she is leaning towards the Cooper, and I would agree
She was talking about getting one of those Lexas SUVs before, but I don't think she can afford that right now since we are getting married in about 2 months.

um ok cars that are small arent dangerous.
infact cars that have circular shapes like the bettle are usually safer than larger boxed shaped ones. the arch and the circle can take pressure and turn into tension easier. this means less injury to both drivers. now if you took a car like 88 caprice and ran it into a another car, the other car would have more damage and the driver of the other car would be at higher risk to injury. its not a fact of size, but shape that counts. cars that are boxed shaped have been proven to have very poor crash test results. cars like the cooper and bettle are ultra safe in crash testing do to ist simple basic circular design. i am architecture student and also one who pays close attention to crash testing, so i know a little more than the average person might. never listen to people who say their car is safe because its big , thats never true at all. suvs are even more dangerous! because of its hightened center of gravity. even though i am fan of old school cars (especially caddies since my great granma onws an 82 coupe deville), i have to ocnfess their is a big safety issue at risk.
oh yeah, best way to avoid all of this injury talk in an accident is to just wear your seat belt

for the price of a mini I would go after a used volvo c70 coupe. I have drove a few and they are very nice cars. And its an inline 5 cylinder with a turbo. very sweet ride. And where I live they are rare. As far as cooper or beetle I would say cooper.
im sorry man if this is not gonna help you out or not but i would tell her to get a civic like yours but a 4dr instead for when yall get kids. And so you two can have the same cars and that way it would be like his/hers car
that would be totally awesome and that way the both of you can work on your cars and compete to see who does stuff to their car faster. Or if one day she beats u u can take her stuff and put it on ur car ehehee

anyway, the bug is old news and doesn't drive like the mini. you need to want attention to drive that mini though. it handles hot. don't waste any extra dough on the S model. most girls will get all they need with the base model. his wife is staining the seat every time she gets in it cuz it makes her.., GAAAAAGGHHHH!
