I was just recently in Mexico for vacation. I saw a bunch of 7th Gen Civics along with 6th Gen Civic EXRs. Ive been trying to find out what it is. My guess is its our Si. Down there in Mexico, they are big fans of VW. I saw so many of them with exhaust and one of them with a wing. Oh and I saw a little Chevy hatchback that some fool tried to pass of as a Civic HB. It had a bodykit and the H and Civic emblems. But anyway, somebody tell me what the Civic EXR is.

Rep Power: 0 OK here´s your answer, and don´t ask the reason.
The first Accord to reach Mexico was the 95-97th model which came in EXR trim. It was basically a EX, but they added the "R" to make people think it was fast.
When they added the civic in 97 the only version that came was the fully loaded coupe and sedan (EX in the US) but it came standard with alloys and a sunroof. Later in 99-00 the Si was added as a SiR and got quite a reputation.
By 2001 with the new 7th gen they changed the trim names, now we have EX as in the US, but it comes standard with the alloys and sunroof, and the LX, which is the base EX in the US. The only engine for the civic is the vtec 1.7 liter.
