Parents New GMC Envoy Broke Down

Well I had to go pick my parents up today they stopped at a store and came out and they had full power but it just keep turning and turning but no bang. So called the dealer and they said they would pay for it to be towed to them and they think maybe the fuel pump went out. So this should be interesting on what they have to say about this, any ideas on this and besides the fact its a Domestic SUV I told them they should have got a pilot hehe. The only good thing is its still under warranty

No offence to anyone if you like them, but it IS a GM vehicle, what do you expect.

I have noticed the newer domestic cars are, the faster they are dieing. My dad has a 94 Chevy Silverado, almost 140k miles on it. The only thing that has gone out is the alternator at 100,000 miles. In the domestic market car quality (by this I meen the length of a cars life) is going down. Look at my dad's silverado and this guy's parent's Envoy. Something Old vs. New. 94 with 140k miles and only a bad alternater vs. New Envoy with something already wrong with it.

I love that truck. My girlfriends Sister is leasing one, she just got it a month or so ago....Its charcoal grey....really comfortable and a really nice ride. I would buy one if I was looking for an SUV.

Yeah I will agree for a SUV with all you get with them for the price they are not a bad deal. Yeah we got a rental Mercury Sabel my parents are driving now and its all right but would never own one. Yeah the dealer is so booked with repairs right now we will be lucky to get the Envoy back by next week, hehe and all domestics in there getting worked on. With all the electrical stuff on these new vehicles I can see why people have problems, just glad I own a 01 Civic

I guess is all up to experience when it comes to trusting a car manufacture. My family and I have never had big problems with GM cars. my father had a 1973 pickup with over 250,000 miles never had a major problem. He now has a 1995 GMC Safari (sp?) with over 100,000 miles again no problems with the exception of a dead fuel-pump; dealer said it was cause my father never changed the fuel filter. I had a 1993 Cavalier RS I run it to 200,000 miles the only problem was the water pump brock 3 times. Bought it Kragen (sp?) and got it warranty for life so i only payed fo the first and it was only a 15min job so I didn't care. My uncle, in 1984, bought a 442 and rebuilt the engine that year what do you know no problems and over 150,000 miles since he rebuilt the engine.
