are you serious? that is odd...I see them all the time around here...I never did like them. I see a couple of them at the local car shows and they are junky. I guess cause the parts are hard to find now.

I remember when I was about seven, my friend and I would always ride our bikes by this neighbor of our's house because he had a Delorean. We didn't know what it was at the time, but it was the coolest damn thing we'd ever seen.

I saw one of those around a couple months ago.
It was the biggest POS I have ever seen. The person who had it did not take care of it all. I swear to god, I could have punched a hole in the body panel due to the amount of rust it had on it.

Why anyone would want a Delorean is beyond me. The thing is looks like a monster.
Of course that's just me. I hate 80's cars of any kind. The 80s were a joke God played on everyone.

YES! This is why you should always keep a camera in your car like i do (too bad these pictures are from a disposable camera and scanned so the quality is not good). A couple of weeks ago i saw one of these beauties on the road and got several pictures of it. Made my day, week for that matter. I dont feel like resizing the pictures so here are the links to them on my angelfire page which will probably stop working as soon as i post this. If anyone wants to resize them and post them feel free.
Delorean pic
change the 4 at the end of that url to any number 1-6 and it will bring up the pictures

i'm sure since there is that big delorean restoration place in houston now we could be seeing a lot of them down here. i love those cars, even though performance wise they are only about equal to ours.
man by looking at the mph on that car, i wonder how doc ever and marty got that car up to 88mph? were they using 100 shot of n02 or something or i wonder if it was turboed.

i love 80's cars. there are dozens of 80's cars that could own most of the vics on this site. But thats just me, i like the old school. my granma has a 82 coupe devile and i love that thing. i hope they give it to me when they get tired of it. what would a poor college student do with two cars though?

Stainless Steel is only Rust resistant, not rust proof. The main component of stainless steel is iron (if I'm not mistaken). The cromium in the metal makes it resistant to corrosion, but if you neglect it enough, it can and will rust.

i saw one painted black a while ago ......and it was still ugly
When i was in school (Devry) a guy had one with a flux capaitor in it.....it flashed like crazy. then one day two people parked real close to him on purpose and he couldnt get the doors open.
as for the specs, cant remember the exact numbers but as far as i can remember it was powered by a lotus v6 that made about 130 horsepower. 0-60 in 8 seconds and a top speed of 130mph. like i said earlier, pretty close to our cars. and now parts arent TOO hard to find. www.delorean.com. some guys down here in houston bought all the old parts from the factory (TONS of parts). They are selling parts and doing restorations now. I even heard something about them starting new production of it, though after delorean went out of business the english government through the molds into the atlantic.
Man i've been trying to get my hands on one of those.... I hear that if you take one up to 88 MPH, that some lights start flashin' and you disappear..

Those cars are Plies Of S---!! They weigh so much and more than half the parts are from GM. If they didn't go out of bussiness it was possible that car could have really been a performance car later in its life. They had some good ideas, but Jon Jon like driving to close to the "white line" and was set up by the goverment, which some people say the goverment was working with the Big 3 in Detroit to bring the compitition down.
solar: The cars were built in northern ireland (or somewhere around there) and the company was heavily financed by the british government. The English definately werent working with detroit to bring the company down. Mr. Delorean tried to cut a drug deal to save the government which the british caught. he was tried but acquited because of entrapment. And those cars arent POSs, they are very nice when taken care of. if someone set a civic in a nasty old garage for twenty years it would come out looking pretty awful too
