1994 Ford Probe SE
Does anybody know how these cars perform acceleration wise anyways? This one guy who hates me (his ex is now my gf) wants to race me at the track sometime but I wanna know if I'd even win? As far as I know it's 2.0 4 cylinder and I know he has no mods and it's automatic and my EX is stick, any ideas?

Only one way to find out. A Ford Probe's 1/4 is jsut over 16 secs.
But with your manual tranny you should get the jump and maybe win.

I don't know why you all think he will toast the guy.
If a Probe runs a 16.2 quarter and a 7thgen runs around a 16.5 stock. The Probe already has the lead. But, because the Probe is a manual the Civic should get the jump. Another thing holding the Civic back is the sound system he has. That is just more weight that is gonnna slow him down.
Also, have you ever raced before? Do you know how to lauch good?

yes the quarter mile is better (not by much) but the probe is also older, more wear on the engine, and it is an auto. if you know how to launch well with a stick and beat him off the line and redline every gear and dont miss a gear, you should be able to squeak out a win. just remember to take out your sub and all that other good stuff for a weight reduction. and ya, youll be at the track, so dont hold back at all. go ***** out.
