Another tip to stop rattling...
Hey guys. My friend found a couple prime spots for rattling with me. The plastic caps behind the door handle that covers up the two screws, and the plastic cap that covers the screw where the inlet is to shut the door.
Remove the caps.
Put one or two small peices of electrical tape on it. put a small amount on the opening where the cap goes (just enough so the cap fits very snugly).
Pop the peices back in. See it for yourself, no more "play" by the inlet, and if you tap the cap by the handle, you'll notice it's much more solid, almost like an audi .
Well anyway, not sure if your peices rattle. Mine did, I did that and it fixed the problem. Last issues are the dash and the trunk tension bars (the things that help open the trunk - I'm doing the DIY strut install on that soon).
Hope this helps guys!

Well it's an opening I usually put my cell phone into, its kind of like a well in the door. the cap is smaller than a dime but it SLIDES front and back making noise. Most companies put those there so you can use it to shut the door

I've got come 6.5 mids in the doors and used to have a lot of rattle, I put some XTC foam baffles behind the speakers. Basically they are a small foam speaker enclosure. They made my mids sound more punchier and also eliminated a lot of door rattle. The baffles only cost like $8.00 if that so I would recommend anyone to put those in at the same time they install door speakers....

I have those XTC foam baffles and I don't reccomend them. At least not up front. The 6.5" ones touch one of the reinforcement bars of the door and they transfer the deep base to the door itself which cancels it out and makes this basketball like sound inside and especially outside. IDQcivic, which ones did you buy? What size? The 6.5" ones? I wonder why you like them so much?

I already said why I like them, they made my midbass more punchy sounding with less door rattle... I was also able to lower my crossover point to my door speakers so I could get more bass up front to help my sound stage a little... After all you want the sound to sound like its coming from up front not behind you so having good midbass makes the bass seem like its coming from up front... I think the baffles are good because they act as a small sealed enclosure so the mids dont bottom out due to the oringinal free air usuage. Plus the foam absorbs any vibrations that could cause rattling. Also the sound isn't lost in the door but comes out into the listening area. I still have some rattles its just not as bad as it was! I have the CDT auto CL6x-B component set...

No, they're closed foam. I cut a slit in them to put the wire through, but they still seal up pretty tight. Why would you want them to breathe? Actually, that might help even out the bass. I just bought mine to prevent water from getting on my speaker.
