Hey guys...I need your help here..i'm going to be buying a new car here sometime soon..and i need to know what you guys think..I'm deciding between a 240sx and converting it into a silvia (sr20det engine swap, headlight conversion, etc) and just a Honda Civic and just making that hella fast ...and adding all that unique stuff that you can add to a civic..but i dont know which one to get??..So i need your help, which one do you think i should get?..if you think I should get a civic tell me what year and preferrably why and if i should get a silvia..why?..thanks guys Hopefully this will help me make my decision a little bit.

if you're serious about modding and working on it then get the 240sx, the weight doesnt matter because there is way more potential in that car, RWD ownz fwd... and no, theyre pretty cheap... but how much do you know about cars (be serious, we dont want to know your e-***** / e-bewbies size here, just be truthful) because if you're a newbie i'd suggest a civic....

Rep Power: 0 a couple of months ago at the drag strip there was this white guy with a POS brown 240sx. he lined up with a mustang gt (owner was out of the car) and the gt owner was pointing to the sx with his friend and it was obvious they were making fun of it. the guy working the lanes tells everybody in the staging area to close hoods, turn on cars, and put on seat belts. i say to myself, "this is going to be ugly for the sx" when i hear him rev right before he pulls up to the christmas tree and the sweet sounds of a blow-off valve fills my ears.
thirteen and a half seconds later, the sx made that 14.6 second gt look as slow as our car.
sorry for the rambling, but to sum up yes it was an SR20DET and he was on street tires doing mid to low thirteens all night long. get the car and that engine

Rep Power: 0 the 240 is just so much better of a car
why would you want a civic like everyone else out there when you cna have a 240sx with rwd? and you know you can rape some vics once you are done. or you want to be "cool like them people with rice out vics" kinda person? and just want to fit in with them? so what your dad owns a honda clinic, i am sure if he cna work on a honda, he cna work on a nissan. and the silva headligths are so sweeet!!!!

Rep Power: 0 haha agreed voice..i love the headlights...and i only mentioned the honda clinic cuz i know (like you said) he'll know how to work on a NIssan too.......and the reason why i dont want a civic is exactly why you said...everyone else has one.......i want a car that not that many ppl have, and yeah i know quite a few have 240's but not half as much as civic's..so yeah i think i'll go w/ the 240.

Rep Power: 0 Definitely go with the 240, but be prepared to throw down teh green when the time comes. Your looking at an incredible bill once your finally done with the sr20det and "silvia" conversion. My friend owns a 91 240sx (yep, flip up headlights!) and although nearly everything avalaible as far as suspension and domestic aftermarket parts are fairly inexpensive, to find a decent low mileage engine is a project in itself if you dont know where to look. And to find one with a decent price tag is even more of a rarity. You will definitely end up with an absolute GEM of a vehicle when your done though.

Rep Power: 322 A 5th or 6th hatch would be kind of fun, find a teg engine which can be found pretty darn cheaply. It's be so much cheaper. In the end though, depending on how far you want to go, the 240sx will be classier for sure.

Rep Power: 0 All depends on how much money you wanna spend, but I would stay the 240sx such a nice car and youll have lots of fun with RWD and soo much power too. My friend has an older one like someone said before in a post above his is white and has tokyo style bodykits its the 95 model damn nice but the newer ones are even nicer.

Rep Power: 0 Go with a 240 that hasn't been touched. My roomate bought one for like 1800, and drove it for three weeks. now he has no car cause the engine is blown, and doesnt have enough money for the sr20 swap
