"Do-It-Yourself" Tints
My friend is planning on getting those cheap tint kits you can find at pepboys for his car. I'm telling him it's gonna turn out shitty but he says he "knows" people who have good lookin ones. What do you guys think?
Tell me what you don't like about yourself....

Tint is one thing that should almost always be left to the pros. Unless you are very experience at doing it.

man DIY with anything sucks if u dont have the skills, and tint is one hard job to do, cause if i screw it there is no going back, u need new glass, or the bit** job of removing it. bad idea

Umm hate to break it to u but the "pros" use the same film that u can buy at wal mart not the cheap pruple stuff that costs 5 dollars a roll but the charcol that costs like 10.. The diffrence is that they take there time when they do it, i have tinted 2 peoples windows and they both turned out great u just need alot a pacience and time.

its not that hard actually, but as time progress it will bubble up if you didn't do it right and the pros have lifetime warranty anyways...i tinted my HOUSE window but not my car...pretty easy...but at home no one looks at it, but your car everyone sees so yea...
that would be cool, never heard of it, but it would really suck if the cops require that u remove it

tinting the sides isnt really that hard, hell i did mine when it was almost dark outside. But i dont think i'll ever attempt to do the back window. The window curves and its a b*tch to get to. I'll let the *pros* do my back window, but theyre charging me 100 bucks for just the back

You could also give yourself a tattoo, but why not let someone who knows what they're doing and can give you a warranty do it?
Yep I did mine on my old 88 civic but it looked so bad I took it down to the pros and it has looked great since. Yeah the backwindow is impossible to try. Yeah on my 01 when I bought it I took it straight to the pros first day I had a day off I love tint.
