today in my autoshop class we were doing alignment on a 97 supra.. doing the rear toe/camber was a breeze, but doing the front caster/camber was a b*tch to do. I just wanted to say that its nice to know how to do alignments on cars and it was fun when we did it even though we hit some problems. I wish i have an alignment rack in my garage. and a dyno. (in my dreams, right!)

Rep Power: 344 lol. at my ghetto school, we never learned anything in autoshop. its sad.
I would have taken the class but the teacher doesn't teach squat.

Rep Power: 0 you can go two ways at my school(brookdale comm college). Either go to school and work for GM or work for toyota (T-Ten)/lexus program. Those companies denate cars to my school all the time. We work on the latest model cars because thats mostly what we're gonna be dealing with in the real world when we, the students, start workin in this business. We have cars from toyota tercel to toyota supra, chevy cavalier to chevy camaro, lexus gs300 to rx300 all to their latest models. And if you work for a major company like toyota/lexus, then you'll be making some big $$

Rep Power: 0 I don't think it matters if you work for a major company or not. I have a buddy who's a mechanic at his own shop and he makes some sweet cash. As long as you have the knowledge, there's always someone who will pay for you to show them how.

Rep Power: 0 yea you can make alot of money in the mechanic industry cause once you think about it everyone has a car and at some point will need repairs. If you have the knowledge that is great, like as i do i just watch my friend who owns his own shop and i learned alot just by watching and helping where ever its needed. But the sad thing is that most dealerships want "CERTIFIED" mechanics, so just experience and skills dont go far you actually need to be certified which sux. just my .02

Rep Power: 0 haha a year after i graduated my friend (who is a year younger) said somebody brought in an R34 to admire. Its a very wealthy school, and it wasnt uncommon for somebody's dad to bring in a ferrari or porsche to have the kids look at. I remember somebody's dad bringing in his Twin Turbo F40 to show off before he had it sent in to have the motor completely rebuilt for larger turbos. He said he was expecting 1100+ hp when he was done. Although we never got to actually touch the cars, it was awesome to see them in person.
