maxima v.s. Civic
I currently own a 2k1 civic lx 5spd coupe... I have 34K milse and i currently have intake, exaust, 17's and am about to get a octane body kit... Here is the thing, ive been looking for a 2000 or newer 5spd maxima.... I havent seem to find one that has not been more than 500 miles away from me(TN). Though i did find a 2000 maxima auto. with 59K miles, its a champange gxe, has no sunroof but it does have bose sound system and 6 dish indash.. I kno the maxima even as an auto would spank me, but would you guys rather have the maxima or should i stick with my civic, by the way the maxima is selling for 11,979 not a bad price.............
Love my 02 Civic, however 2000 Max is no comparo.
Scared myself good one night passing a couple of turbo diesels that had just passed me moments earlier (I was doing 80 when they passed like a couple of bats out a hell) I started ketching up once the mood hit me while going up a long stretch of hill coming out of Mesquite Nv. I passed them like they were standing still. I almost sh** a bench warrent when I looked down and was at 140ish. This is not exagerated.
I can also vouch for the ability to run down the highway in the Max at 125 with the moonroof open with very little wind noise.
Check the fit of your feet though, I have a hard time hitting the gas ped w/out ketching the brake ped, specially with dress shoes on.

Pound for pound, dollar 4 $ I would keep the civic. Then again I'm talking bout new and new. That sounds like a good price for a used Max -That case do it!.-
I'm waiting until I can get an Ifinity, but that's a ways out.
P.S. Girlfiend traded the Max on a 02 Civic Coupe. She likes it cause it has a stick and she never liked the Auto in the max. I liked the Max's Auto very much.

Dude if you want more info and people to help you out go to www.maxima.org Its the best place to find out anything that you could possibly want to know about a maxima. I used to have one and I loved it. There is actually alot of upgrades out there for a maxima but no-where near as many as for our civics.

of course there are not as many aftermarket parts for it as there are for the civic, but then, NO car has more parts than the civic. My friend has a maxima, think it's a 2k1, and it looks sweet! actually, you can see it in the new SCC, there is an ad for maxima aftermarket stuff fromt his place that just does maxima'a... there are a bunch of cars with names beside them and his is the first one (says kevin under it), and has 19's... by the way, he has a 5-spd... and it's that awesome pewter color

dude, if you get a maxima, get a 5 spd, cause then it will be easy to supercharge
my dad has a 2k1 GXE, its an auto, but its still fast, those cars have nice low end torque, and are great highway performers.
like MIDVIS said, check out www.maxima.org, just see what those are guys are upto.
btw, maxima's have decent aftermarket, like a few body kits, supercharger, strut bars and sway bars, intakes, ecu upgrades, y pipes, b pipes, i think headers to. i think the older 4th gen maxima has more aftermarket, but the 2k and 2k1 have a decent amount.

See, i like the look of the civic alot better than the maxima, but performance... It would cost me hella to be able to get my civic up to 222 horses and thats stock for the maxima... I mean i want a faster car, but as i get older in life lol (19) i feel like maybe there is more to life than speed, and racing, dont know well anyway the maxima sold this weekend so i guess im on the market again.. Still not sure what im going to do, but if i find a 5spd or 6spd maxima for under 17 grand i will get it for sure, so let me know if you guys no anyone....
2k/2k1 = 5spd
2k2/2k3 = 6spd
the civic has better handling, but, you can put a RSB and do some suspension stuff, then it wont be as good a civic's handling, but it might be close
