Another Coupe Bits The Dust
GM has announced that the Grand Prix coupe will be discontinued for 2004. Completely redesigned for 2004, the sedan will continue to be offered. Not that I am a big fan of GM products (because I own a 2002 EX coupe). I am very concerned about the recent decline in coupe models offered by auto manufacturers. This is historically apparent when you consider the amount of coupes that were available in the past -- a sharp decline. It disturbs to know that coupes maybe virtually nonexistant someday. I despise the fact that I may have to drive a sedan (a family rugrat hauler) in the near future, due to the unavailability or shortages of coupe models. Nice looking GP! I used to own a '96 GP coupe before I purchased my EX coupe. I must say that I did enjoy performance and comfort. It certainly was a heavy car, but absorbed road irregularities well. Sold it to my friend, so I still get to see it.
It was red-orange metallic with mesh wheels. The car only gave my a few problems, which was acceptable for an American car. Even though I love my Honda, still have regrets giving it up. It sure was one h*ll of a car.
Importracer: good luck with your mods. GPs will always have street appeal. I know mine did!

Ahem. "Family Rugrat Hauler"? Yeah, I'm gonna have to go ahead and .. disagree with you on that. See, I don't have a family, nor do I have rugrats, and I think my sedan looks pretty sweet.
I just felt I had to defend myself and all the other sedan owners out there.
But I do agree, it's sad to see the decline of coupes in production. I know when I got my car, it was only $200 for the extra 2 doors, I wonder if it has anything to do with cost effectiveness ..
