Check this out - found it on the SEMA website - pretty radical. I wonder if it works?

why not just jet nitrous? it does the same thing + adds power through enriching the 02 mixture.

makes the air 35% colder but for how long? once your engine starts going i would want that 35% to stay cold and keep my engine cold

its good for a run down the 1/4 mile. you would undoubtedly have to spray for each run though.

Ya, I'd wonder how long it would last and what they say the advantages are to nitrous... I can't imagine there is much power to be had there compared to a basic 50 shot of nitrous. 35% cooler air, hmm 100 degrees minus 35 degrees = 65 degree air coming into the engine. What would that be, maybe 5 hp ?? Now, where is that ratio of air temp to hp gained...

I checked the website but they don't have it on yet Design Engineering

Try to stick your air filter in your freezer for a little while and then put it on! I tried it and it worked for like a couple of seconds.

hell, you can get the same cooling factor, plus a slight bump in power even with a 25 or 30 shot.

i'm not going to attempt the math, but i've been told that you gain only 1 hp for every 10-11 degree drop in temp.

I'm suprised no one has said "what if you reroute the A/C into the intake?" yet.

I would say that it would geatly increase your chance of hydrolocking your motor! The metals temp would be below the dew point so condensation would form and then be sucked right into your engine hydrolocking it.

"Dyno testing has shown up to a 35% drop in air charge temperature."

Since when has a dyno measured air temperature?

Not a bad idea, but not worth the money...if you want to do something like that, redirect your AC vents somehow to your intake and ur done ;]

Nah but freal tho...if you really wanna do something like that just shoot some nitrous....

Dyno's test alot more than just horsepower and torque, think about it, how are you going to test the temp if you are driving the car on the street....with a dyno your going 100 but not moving...easier to take measurements. They also test a/f ratio's egt's etc, etc...
