EX exhaust system on LX

I live in S. kali and i'm just a noob to the ricer scene. I own a 02 LX coupe 5-spd. I was readin on this one tread by Mbow that ex's on all hondas have that little extra hp over the lx's because of the exhuast manifold and cat-back systems for the most part." I was thinkin, if this was true, is it possible to just go to a junkyard and salvage the EX exhaust system and put it on my LX? Since DC headers are just replicas of EX headers, will EX headers fit on LX cars? Will there really be HP gains from it?

The EX gets more hp than the LX because it has VTEC. Bolting on an EX exhaust system to an LX will probably increase the power minimally (the cat for the DX/LX is integrated into the exhaust manifold, while the cat on an EX is further downstream). However, the gains would be so minimal that it probably wouldn't justify the few hundred dollars.

Remember that the HX has the LX's exhaust system and it has VTEC as well. It produces 117hp at the crank vs. the LX's 115. I'de say that the exhaust system on the EX gives it more power than it's VTEC. The LX's short header/cat combination is very restrictive. It's good for emissions, but it's not good for power.
