Except this is very specific and I just need some opionions:

The legal tint level for Ohio is 50%, which sucks, so I have some options

1. Get 50% and remain perfectly legal, but it wont be that dark so....
2. Get 35%, which is illegal, but the guy said that I will probably be ok with it...
3. Get 20% or darker, and run a higher risk of getting cited.

Basically, I'd like to know how picky the police are about tint and whether I would be pulled over, because I don't even think 50% would be worth my $180.

50 % is not worth it, too light
legal tint here is 35 % which is not really dark at all
so i went with 20 % sides and 15 % rear
never had problem yet .

at least get 35 % all around
when i see cops. i roll down my windows hehe

i have 35% in MA, which is legal, but i suggest u stay legal for your state. My friend was pulled over and the cop had an instrument to mease the tint, it was 20%, he was ordered to remove the tint, the only way that he could was to have his windows replaced.

yea....50% isnt worth it IMO...

im even re-thinking my decision of 20%....

there are alot of cars with darker tint...and that new "mirror" tint is quite popular..and alot more illegal than regular tint...so i would say go for a darker %


well...after reading what SAJ said...my advice would be to consider what other cars are like in your area...in my area, my tint isnt noticably dark...so the cops wont care as much....

I don't think Cops will have a real problem with your tint job. they may look at you kinda funny, but I doubt they will seriously harrass you about it. I say so with the 35%, cause your in OHIO and you guys get more snow than sun anyway. I'm in Florida and I got 15% all the way around.

i have the whole car tinted including the whole front winshield tinted 5%

Tinting your front windshield is not a good idea. Not only is it illegal but If you ever get into an accident and happen to hit the front windshield, it will not shatter like its supposed to, it will just hold together like a brick wall and therefore your skull will just shatter. Tinting it 5% all the way around (incl. windshield is also not the brighteset idea, I mean don't you have trouble seeing at night?

But anyway it's your car and you gotta drive it.

Any tint on the front windows in Illinois is illegal. I went with 5 in the back and 35 in the front. Its usually an add-on to a traffic violation as opposed to a citation in itself. So, my suggestion would be to go to a tint shop and ask them. They obviously know what usually goes on car, and what is allowed by the cops. If they tell you that you can't get less than fifty w/o being pulled over, I might still get it if it was a good price. It dramatically lowers the temp of your car on real hot days.

i got 5% and its hard to see at night but hey its off the hook.....
