Does hot weather effect leather seats?

my friend just got a new TL-S but he will be relocatin to Las Vegas next month..i just want to know if the leaher seats crack easier in hot places like vegas?

It depends on whether it is dry heat or humid heat. Dry air is leather's enemy. In the summer time you usually don't have to worry about it too much because it is so humid...I guess that depends on where you are at though. The winter time is very rough on leather because it is so dry.

He shouldn't have any problems. Just use a sunshade and maybe apply the conditioner a little more often.

Only if you don't take care of them.

Use a good leather conditioner (Maguires, Zaino, etc), and the seats will be just fine.

las vegas is dry heat so i dont see it really bothering it, just makin the leather hot when you get in the car.

alrite thanks for the info...cause he was tellin me when u went there to check out his house..he noticed a lot of cars without leather seats..and he was talking about bmw's he said he saw a few of them...maybe those ppl are too ghetto to get the luxury package...

Just clean them daily and don't wear shorts. Otherwise you'll have cracked leather and first degree burns on your ***.

Umm....dry air is leather's worst enemy. Leather cracks because it has become excessively dry. Just keep the leather moist with conditioner. I would put it on once a month in the conditions that you described. Ideally, once ever 2 weeks.

Yes, it will be hot as hay. I had leather in an accord and it was nice but it gets hot and very cold. You slide around a lot and it's just one more maintenance item.
