Stupid question: What is "missing a shift?"
Like if you say you missed a shift or something. I have an auto, and when I've driven manuals I've never done this (knock on wood). if you miss 2nd does it mean you shifted from 1st into 4th or something?

Doesn't "missing a shift" mean you depress the clutch too late or let off the clutch too early, causing you to grind gears?? I don't see how some one could just accidentally "miss" a gear (i.e. going from 1st to 4th) or whatever, unless you really suck at shifting.
