LOL.. good oil change story

Ok, so up here at FSU, there's this little club of guys and girls with imports/compacts. So we have a place to work on our cars if we need to. So this kid with a Escort ZX2 or something like that comes over one day. Hes going to change his oil. So, he drains his oil, puts the plug back in, changes the filter and fills it back up with oil right??? WRONG. When he starts his crar.. POOFFFF.. smoke everwhere. My man drained his tranny and filled the engine up. So he had the old oil and the new oil in the engine... like 10 quarts It was funny as all he!! but we just tryed to help him out because we knew he felt like a jacka$$. Needless to say I havent seen him around latley, he has not came to any of the meetings or nothing. i feel kinda bad for him but still good sh.it just thought I'd share. OWNED

I'm assuming it was a automatic tranny, you would think he would see that the fluid was red and smelled bad. Live and learn I guess.

I can see where someone who doesn't know what they're doing can confuse the tranny and engine oils... but you said he had changed his filter too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the tranny doesn't even have a filter, does it? So if he actually did take the engine oil filter out, wouldn't that have drained the engine oil right there?

No if the oil filter is up high like it is on our cars and the oil was sitting in the pan at the bottom of the engine.

I would have to agree about the fact that transmission fluid is reddish, though, what an idiot.

lol one night at our monthly truck inspections at the fire station one of the recruits was checking the oil in one of our older trucks and he poured in about two quarts of new oil and was putting the oil cap back on when i looked at the bottles and it was power steering fluid... so he had to drain it all and refill it with oil.... i know stupid but it was funny at the time
