ACURA SAYS NO MORE?
I was at the local Acura dealer peeking at the new RSX type s's (DROOLING)
anyways i spoke to the manager and after a while of conversation he told me that in a few years Acura isn't going to be sold in the US anymore - i don't know if this is 100% true or not but he said it's because of low sales and honda sales have boosted....
if anyone has any more information regarding this or if its a rumor please let me know..

Thats odd.. the Dealer said to me that "that was the best selling car thats why he cant come down on the price.."
but then agian.. so did the guy that sold me my honda..
and the guy that sold my mom her mustang..
And even my dads Truck.. althought he said it was the best selling Truck.. now it sad cause here in Texas they have ALLL these FORD commericals and they state that Ford is the Best in texas..

Ive never heard that, but thats like Toyota getting rid of Lexus and incorporating all their cars under the main name....hell, I wouldnt mind seeing all of the Acura cars rightfully named, saves me the money of buying Honda emblems.
Whats the big deal if we loose Acura??? This ridiculus market stagedy only existins in North America.
Go over to Japan and say "I drive an Acura RSX", they'll laugh at you. Its a freakin' "Honda Integra"!!!!!!!!
The same is for Lexus and Toyota.
People here are too interested in name brand but fail to understand its just a way for the manufacturers to tack on a couple of thousands extra because you want the name.
Personally, we should get rid of Acura and have everthing Honda, just like overseas...

Texas ain't just wide open country. Texas is just like anywhere else.
Now let me go to yonder pastures and milk some cows and shovel manure.

Don't you guys know that ACURA is HONDA, if they do not sell Acuras after awhile, the cars will all be under the HONDA bage. Common guys, another thing that I do not understand why is, why do the ACURA models all have different names in this country, in Japan they are all under HONDA, like the RSX here, its the Integra in Japan. Why are American dealers try to be so different? I heard that Honda is on the verge of changing all Acura's to the Honda badge. The change would take place over the next few years, but eventually you could be driving a Honda NSX

HEHE.. i'd say about 80% of the people here drive a truck and yeah i Feel that way.. heck you need a truck to get into my driveway.. its like a freaking moutian.. hehe i scrape when i leave the driveway and my car is all Stock
they have Acura / Honda and Infiniti / Nissan and Lexus / Toyota because of our market here in North America. Xian is correct, it is ridiculous.. People here are too conserned about the brand name of something and are willing to pay a lot more for a Honda Civic with Chrome Detailing that is called an Acura 1.7EL.. Why wouldn't you just get a Honda Civic EX /w Leather Interior.. I bet you it would be MUCH MUCH cheaper than a 1.7.. That;s the problem, the people here and our brand mentalities.. Marketing is an amazing tool!!!

the honda accord cost a pretty penny.. why is that not a Acura? i'm telling you they did it for the restrictions on importing. that is why you dont see ALL brands and all cars over here. how the choose the cars are retarded.. they didnt bring over some of the Best sellers in japan/euro.

the acura 1.7 el is only offered in canada, and it is not much more expensive then a civic ex considering you get leather, n sunroof, all wheels disc brakes and a few more safety features...
i rather the 1.7el, then a civic ex w/ leather!

my car before i went with the standard vic was gonna be standard gts. the guy wanted 25k dollars for it...barebones (no options). i said "hahahahah get lost" and held up a sheet with the invoice on it. 6k markup? i dont think so. he still wanted 23 for it, so i told him peace and left. and i pulled an ex with side airbags and other nice goodies for 15.5.

but yeah.. they should keep just Honda, Toyota and all... i mean youc an still put the same price tag on an Acura RSX if it was a Honda RSX....
and besides... HONDA sounds A LOT BETTER then ACURA!!!

They do that cause the importers only allow us to import a few cars.. thats why we have split the major ones to get more cars in :: acura/honda toyota/lexus nissan/inifinity(sp) they also might be doing this cause they are not making alot of different cars so its not worth it to have them split.. so yeah.. if they do call its quits i do think they will merge back to being just honda..so yeah.. Save them acura symbols.. you can sell them to ricers when acura is no more..
Japanese cars had the image of economical compact cars, and in order to create an image contrary to that, a new name badge was made. Companies do it all the time, and for good reasons too. For example, the Saturn midsize sedan that was released recently sold very poorly because of the company's image as a seller of compact cars (and very little marketing). DaimlerChrysler is doing the exact same thing, they're selling their top-of-the-line car as a Maybach badge and not a Mercedes badge.
The Japanese do it even in Japan too. The Mazda Miata is called the Eunos Roadster.

EDIT: i live in a small town and i drive a honda and no one shoots at me, next time think before you speak
umm no, that wont happen. the only thing that will stop selling as far as Acura is concerned is the NSX, im alomost certain that 2004 will be the last nsx because its being redesigned again and i do know for sure that the S2000 will be discontinued within the next year or 2 but acura cant drop be cause you know how honda is the best selling car manufacturer? well if they incorporated the Acura/Honda into just honda, they will hold a Monopolistic stand point and they can and will be forced out of the US same with Toyota/Lexus Nissan/Infinite and so on, so expect to see acura around for a while and besides that 2004-2005 the Honda Dual Note will be coming out under the Acura name I think its coming as the like the RDX or something like that, look under honda concept cars to find it
