Put a TV in your car (Chicago)
Alright peeps, here's the deal. For those of you who frequent eBay, you may have seen a guy selling a TV setup for 6th gen civics that puts the TV in the main console, and the radio lower on the dash. Well, I contacted that guy about making one for a 7th gen, and he said he is planning on it, but he doesn't have a demo car. He's looking for someone in the Chicago area who could let him use their car to design the kit. Here's an explanation in his own words:
I am looking for a 7th generation civic near Chicago to develop a new custom lcd tv kit on. It will be like the kits I sell on EBAY now, if you haven't seen them go to EBAY and search "honda tv" and either the accord or 6th gen civic will come up.
I would like to offer this to all the owners of the new body civic but unfortunately I don't know anybody that owns one if you can believe that. so if you own a new civic and would be interested in being the first with this setup let me know
oh and for the trouble of letting me borrow the car I will give you the lcd and whatever pieces for the car for my cost and charge no labor and in turn I will need the car for a few days in my garage (zero miles will be put on it will just sit in a secured garage) to work with and come up with the new setup and then take pictures for the kits' instructions. Also there won't be any cutting or altering the car in anyway I will use parts I buy from Honda to make the setup. SEND E-MAILS TO ALL12VOLT@ATTBI.COM
thanks
-will-
Anyway, I'd do it if I lived near Chicago, but I don't. If anyone is willing to help him out I'm sure MANY civic owners would appreciate it, since that means there would now be cost-effective way to get a TV in their 'vic. Sorry for the long post guys, and contact him if you're interested.

His eBay name is Ratz123@aol.com I think.
Anyone willing to make the sacrifice for a few days for your fellow civic owners? PLEASE!!!!!!

Thanks a lot guys. He emailed me last night saying he was waiting for some replys, so I'm sure that he'll get back to you. It's an awesome setup, and it relocates the head unit to right above the cup holders (which everyone wanted to do a while back). Well, post a reply with what happens!

I wish I lived in Chicago. That is a sweet setup. It's gonna look awesome in a 7thgen. But what good is the TV without a DVD or a PS2 inside??[hr]

just so you guys know, any screen that is in view of the driver is, in fact, illegal, and it is a redicolous fine if you get in a wreck with it. the insurance company doesn't have to pay for your car if they can prove you had the screen playing at the time of the accident... just be careful guys

nope, only a screen that is an obstruction to the road, such as on TOP of the dash where it blocks the road. if the road is still in view 100%, then its perfectly legal
