Damn right, i'm getting one of those when it comes out. I already have a deposit on it. Sports Compact just did a test drive/review on it and they said that car had the fastest slalom speed the handling was so amazingly good.

I wanted it, even went in to the dealer 3 months ago to put a deposit on it. The salesman lied to me and I got jipped on it.

Oh, HELL YEAH! Man, reminds me of the 323 GT. Anyone remember those? But only 30HP out of a T25? I would think they could've squeesed at least 45 out of that! Maybe even 50. Oh, well, still a civic eater!

Yup, I believe it was only in 88. I'm not quite possitive, tho. My friend had an 88 and he loved it. I loved it.

The car looks good. It looks like Mazda has a winner on their hands. Of course by the time Honda realizes anything, Mazda will already be ahead. Oh well.

b/c honda builds the civic for a completely different market: daily driver, family car. most people who buy civics fall into this category. if u wanted a faster car, honda has made it: rsx. even the si's or more tunable than ours.

that car looks dope though by mazda. scc did a test drive and said it one of the best built all around cars today.

i guess if we all stop buying civics for awhile and show more demand for a higher performing civic then they will eventaully have to give us wut we want.
and since the SI hatch isnt flying off dealer lots.... then they are probably rethinking that one right now too.. hopefully
SI Coupe!!

honda was stupid in the first place to make the 99-00 si's coupe b/c now honda buyers expect the new si's to come in the 7thgen coupe. it would have been also good if they put it in the sedan where the new trend towards "sporty" sedans are making their way.

The MazdaSpeed Protege will be a limited edition model , 2500 copies for U.S. only . Looks good on paper , but mediocer styling ....... And do remember - Even the Best Mazda is still 1/2 a Ford .

You're an idiot. Maybe true to the models available in North America but not to the Japanese market. How about the RX-7? How many ford parts are in it? How about the Miata? How about the protege 5? See any ford parts in it? The only cars that use ford parts are the B-series truck, the minivan, the explorer whanna be and the protege sedans.

You ARE an idiot. The mazda Protege 5 is 99.9999% Japanese, Japanese Parts, Japanese Assembly Plant. There is only ONE small insignificant part in the Proteges that's Ford. This holds true for the new Mazdaspeed Protege, the Protege 6 Hatch and the new Mazda 6. Tell me one part that's Ford in the new Rx8. .. oh. and 2500 copies? That's wrong too. They're not making more than 2000 of which 250 will be available in Canada, of which one will be mine

I don't get that whole 2000 limit.

I mean it's cool to have a limited production car because it keeps the price up

But If people want to buy them and they are unavailable

Nevertheless everything I have read indicates that the car is a SERIOUSLY hard-core, torque-steering, knee jerckin', tire smoking, back aching rig. For that: 5 beers.
