Get a Civic Type R imported from Europe? I've already managed to figure out the car itself would run in the neighborhood of 25g's, so about the same as an RSX-S, but you'd have the ONLY one in the USA. But what would it cost to get it imported and made somewhat legal in the US where for some reason cars need to have about 10 times as much safety crap as everywhere else? I suppose it would also have to be made emissions legal. So what would it run? 30 sound about right?
What a surprise that would be... Some idiot would pull up thinking you're driving an Si then get wasted. 0-60 in 6.4 and it does 146... gotta love it.

The honda dealership down here that sponsors me, the owner is getting a type-r civic imported for himself....Without going into much detail he said a lot of paperwork, slipping some cash under the table, he is going to end up dishin out close to 38K for his new toy. That is what I heard, dont quote me on it.

thats not a bad idea hahaha
i heard it was roughly 10g's to make it legal here in the us if you were to import cars from like Japan, so im assuming it would be about the same....thats why most people dont!

OK, So you wouldn't be the only one, but there would be so few, you'd be very unlikely to run into another one. Swapping the engine does not get you everything the Type-R has. You'd get the power, but you'd still be missing the bigger brakes, stiffer suspension and tuned aerodynamics that the Type R has. It also has 6th gear. Whatever weight reduction it has over the Si would probably be lost on getting it US safety approved. Unless it was kept just for track use.

I've actually seen a CTR in person here in the states. It was at a car show about a month and a half ago at the Norfolk Scope in Norfolk, VA. The car is actually owned by arospeed.com. They were one of the major sponsers of the show. Very sweet. Hella funny to see everything on the *other* side of the car.

Here's a link to a chick actually sitting in the car. True CTR there baby! I think it actually came from Europe, not Japan, as it had a small european flag on the back of it.

If you import it to a state that doesn't require emissions, like Fl, then all you have to worry about is safety.
