WHY THE FOCUS LOOKS LIKE A CIVIC
OK, I posted this in a thread earlier, but I'm going to paste it here so everyone knows why the Focus looks so much like a Civic (specifically the Coupe, which was designed in America).
While Honda was spending most of its money for Civic-Development on the actual designing of the car, Ford was spending quite a bit of money being sneaky, trying to figure out what Honda was planning for the next Civic. When they got a general idea of what direction Honda was taking, they applied those designed elements into the Focus. Now some of you will say that the Focus came out before the Civic, so that can't be true. Well, Honda begins development on the next generation car just months after the current model is released (the 8th gens are being developed right now), so Ford took the opportunity a few years back to help itself to Honda's concepts. This kind of thing happens in the industry ALL THE TIME, but I don't know why Ford just didn't steal a Civic and slap a Ford badge on it, instead of trying to take credit for Honda's ideas. (Notice how both the Focus and Civic have similar brake problems). Just thought I'd try to enlighten everyone a bit
.
Hope that clears things up a bit

So what's new? This goes on in every single industry. You find the better guy's product, reverse engineer it, and hope you can sucker some idiot into buying it because it's cheaper.
Read his post bro......but you see, Ford came out with the car first...thats just the nature of competition. Its a freaking race. If you loose, you have to start over.

Ford beat Honda to the punch, but that doesn't mean it's a better car AT ALL (I believe theCivic was in development longer than the Focus, just don't quote me on it). Anyway, it's a Ford, and we all know that Ford always circles their mistakes

I'll read nothing... okay just read EVERYTHING. Damn Ford and they're sneaky ways. I guess they can't come up with designs of their own...
as the ex proud (not really) owner of several ford vehicles, I can tell you that not only does ford steal ideas constantly, but they have the worst transmission problems in the industry... hope all those automatic focus drivers like huge repair bills.

No, Chevy has the worse transmissions in the world. Ask any Blazer owner.

Well look at it this way, Jaguar is part of Ford as well as Volvo. Nissan is now part of Renault. Benz is part of Diamler-Chrysler. Mini is no longer British it is now German. Toyota is working with Pontiac look at the Matrix and the Vibe. I mean give me a break eventually there will be 2 car companies and that is it all the cars look the same and they will continue to do so. It is obvious they use eachothers ideas. Why else did all the major car companies bring back the station wagon("sport wagon").
