am I running good 1/4s?

I went to the track on friday, and it was the first time I ran at the track, but I street race a lot so I know how to race my car well.. anyways I have a stock dx with only lowering springs, and I was hoping for low 16's.. I don't know why thats just what I thought I was gonna do.. anyways first run horrible launch 60ft was a 2.49 but I ran a 16.635 @ 82.56 .. everyone was really excited for me but I was pissed.. I know my car is faster than that.. but after that run I popped my hood to let me engine cool down and I noticed my airbox was falling off (some bolts were missing) so I took the remaining 1 bolt of and took the airbox off running the air directly into the filter.. I knew this was bad but I didnt have any bolts or anything.. so my times got worse because it was just hot air going in.. I ran a 16.7 and a 16.8 after that and stopped cause it was stupid.. I ran consistant .600 R/Ts and 2.4 60fts but I'm not satisfied I'm going back wednesday with no seats except driver, air box put back in, and removing my passanger side headlight.. my goal is to hit a 15.9 so it looks like I'm going to be running 104 octane.. I'll let you guys know if I hit my mark.. otherwise let me know what you guys all ran for stock times.. is 16.6 good?

My CRX HF gets high 20 / low 19's in the 1/4.

It has only 62 horsepower.

16.6 is good for a stock dx. There is no way in hell you are going to run a 15.9. I ran a 16.1 with intake and exhaust on a EX. that is a good RT but they doesn't affect the ET.

Ok guys.....there is no way any of those numbers are correct. I have every bolt on possible on an EX plus i am spraying a 50 shot, to make sure my car ran what it did, i ran it every week at the track. 16.1 was my best time. 16.2's consistantly. My reaction times couldnt be better, my 60ft's couldnt get better, everything was perfect. 2k1 civics suck ***, its the truth, i am getting rid of my POS. I mean, come on guys any car with a PLASTIC MANIFOLD! is not going anywhere unless you go the distance and have one custom built for a turbo or nitrous. Thats not cheap. Just admit it, every dime you spend on your 7th gen civic is a waste if you are looking for POWER, but looks is a diff story. Your best bet is to get rid of it now while its still worth something.

What elevation are you at dude?.. that makes a huge difference.. also a few 7thgens running a 50 shot have ran very low 15's. alot around here (EX's) run consistent 16.2-3's at the track with just intakes and exhaust systems..Someone broke a 15 on this forum with Stock...

104 octane, you are gonna blow your damn engine especially since you dont have any mods. If you run that straight it will not be good at all for your motor. But you only put like 1/4 104 you would be okay, but for real save your 5 dollars a gallon and go buy a real mod.

Okay that is about the dumbest thing I've heard this year. 104 Octane fuel won't make you run any faster..it may possibly slow you down as it is slightly more dense then regular fuel. Octane (or anti knock index rating) Are not how well the fuel performs or adds power. It's how well the fuel resists detonation under pressure. There are specially formulated race fuels which resist detonation as well as burn faster..these can add a little bit of power in very high compression or high boost engines.

Oi Kids..

Wow 16.6 in a DX...I was at a track in Orlando, FL, all the 2k1 civics were running high 17s and 18s. Yeah I've pretty much given up on our cars being fast, my friend has a little turbo talon he got for 3 grand and that thing can burn me like nothing you've ever seen. Just gotta stick with looks, gotta admit our cars look damn nice...
