Another K20 gets my foot up its ***.
This time I got to take on the ever so rare 02 Civic Si. It meant missing my freeway exit, but was well worth the time and extra gas(s'). Plus, given the fact that seeing this car literally doubled the amount of 02 Sis ive seen being driven on the road, I couldn’t pass the opportunity up. But I digress...
I was on my way home from the airport the other day. I had just finished up a vacation with the woman and it felt good to get back in my car having to have driven around the bastard step child of the GM line, the Pontiac Sunfire (roll down windows and a 20 watt AM/FM tuner rule!). Im cruising down the freeway on my way home when I see a black ford focus coming up behind me. Well, at least I thought it was a focus, until it got close enough for me to see the red Si badge stuck to its grill. It was ON from that point forward due to the afore mentioned reasons [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]
There was a single Asian guy in it, somewhat older, perhaps my age or a bit more. The car appeared to be fairly new, with paper dealer plates and what not. No mods, but I didn’t really care cause it was *** whopping time. I drop into 4th and arm my system as I watch the mini odyssey get closer and closer to my rear bumper. At about a car lengths distance the guy shoots over a lane and really gets on it.
I wait.
Hes past my rear bumper and still charging. Im sitting at ~80 MPH in 4th gear. When his front bumper reaches my passenger side door, I nail it. I get a quick shot of torque to the chest, as my brain recalibrates from driving around a 105hp automatic beast the past 2 weeks. After I get over the initial shock of actually MOVING in a vehicle, I realize that Ive put 2 lengths on him within the last 20MPH. Nearing 100mph, I decide to top out 4th and shut down ~ 115MPH with an easy 3 to 4 lengths between the two of us... this is with a passenger and 2 weeks of luggage for 2 in the trunk mind you. I slow down to to 80, but the guy didn’t seem too interested in catching up. After a few minutes of watching him hang back in my blind spot I take the next exit and flip a U to get back to my exit which I overshot during the excitement.
I guess I can mark off mini me from my hit list of cars to 0wn3.

Rep Power: 0 considering i pulled on THIS RSX-S with I/E and V-AFC about the same with just a passenger in my car, id say it would be a slaughter for the Si next time [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG] However, given the rather wack sales for that car, that may be in quite a while, and my car will probably be faster by then [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]

Rep Power: 0 Ok, its very nice of you to call me a moron. Hey, it is a fact! If you continue to street race at a unsafe speed in public roads, you will have a accident. I just hope it is himself and not no innocent person. People like you cheer and $hit and congraulate him for racing. Its a dangerous thing to do. So if my comment was direct and awful. Rep Power: 0 upgraded clutch, axles, energy suspension motor mount inserts, header, intake, MSD window switch, wider, stickey tires, and a few other home modifications i did in tuning and what not, plus other stuff, but that only makes me faster in the turns [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]
