Hasport Says K Series Will Now Fit
Hasport has determined that the K Series engines will fit in the current-genereation EM Civic chassis with their subframe. (According to Honda Tuning). Any body know anything more about this?

Interesting, I had that conversation with them 2 months ago. I am not sure how Honda Tuning quoted me, but what I told them was that the RSX engine fits with the stock RSX subframe. I know HTOWN said that IB modified his, but that's not necessary. In fact modifying it would make the exhaust difficult to connect. Our car will use a 5zigen RSX exhaust.
Where the mount kit stands right now, is all the dimensions of the mounts and brackets has been completed. The engine sits very much like it does in the 2002 Si. The aluminum mounts are being designed and we will do final fitting some time after our car is returned from the body shop. I have no idea when the Civic will be back from the body shop.
By the time the kit is out, (possibly the end of next month) we will post our installation instructions on our web site along with a list of parts needed. Besides the mount kit and engine, trans, ECU, there are quite a few other parts needed.

From what Jeff has told me, my entire subframe is now an RSX subframe. So technically I don't think they 'modified' the RSX subframe - they just ditched the EM Civic subframe and custom constructed a subframe that is identical to the DC5's.
Okay so a scrapyard RSX-S with rear end totalled and subframe intact would make for a much easier swap?. Just buy the engine, transmission, Subframe, ECU, and Fuel pump and it's a go?..personally I wouldn't mind at all finding a base RSX engine and slapping a turbo on that

htown, on June 26, when you typed "Ok, just to recap my conversation with Jeff this afternoon:
Right now IB has been doing more welding work to modify the RSX crossmember to fit properly onto my car. Yes you heard correctly - not only does my stock crossmember not fit, but they also need to make modifications to the RSX crossmember to get that to fit", I misunderstood. I thought you were saying they also need to make modifications to the RSX crossmember to get that to fit.
My bad, what did you mean?

I've examined the subframe of my car on a lift a few times, and I've definitely noticed some welding work on the crossmember portion. It doesn't look that drastic though, just looks like they made a few modifications to shorten a bar or two to make things fit a little better. About the exhaust system - IB did have to fabricate a custom downpipe that attaches to my stock catalytic converter. Right now this sits very low to the ground (3-4" of clearance) and it has scraped numerous times. No big deal - I'm planning to get a better flowing cat and get a muffler shop to redo the piping to get some better clearance.

An RSX-S fuel pump won't be necessary - the EM2 Civic's fuel pump is adequate for now. In the future, I plan on doing some N/A stuff or turbocharging the motor. In that case, I will have to start thinking hard about upgrading the fuel pump.
Ths x-crossmember does not need to modified at all for the engine to fit, so I am not sure what they did. With regards to exhaust, if you get an RSX b-pipe and cat, it will bolt up and lay under the car as it would in the RSX. I am certain you could use and entire RSX exhaust actually.
And as for axles, the 02 Civic Si axles fit too, without modification. If you want to do a 5 lug conversion on your Civic you can use the RSX axles. The problem with the 5 lug conversion, is that there are two different knuckle assemblies for the RSX. One bolts on to the Civic strut and the other you will need to use the RSX strut.
