Not a question for the autos I guess

(Unless you pop it in Neutral, then rev it and shift to Drive...but I like my Tranny just where it is, thank-you )

ya.. for autos... the hold brake, gas it, and release is 100 times better than neutral dropping... but i guess that doesn't answer his question..

..i've always heard for experienced drivers (for the 1/4 mile) that the less time you are pealing out the better... its good to launch at lower RPMs to get a better grip on the track for the launch.

Yeah about 3500 and if you nail it right you can get a good trap time.

I drop it at around 4200-4300, usually leave about 3-4 ft. of tread but I guess my tires may be stickier than most of you guys launching around 3 grand so I can drop from higher up.

I am on stock rims and tires. I drop the pressure down to 23 - 26 psi.
Do a dry burnount, and after staged, I launch at 2800rpm. If I go Higher, I loose grip for the first 60 feet.

I've never noticed when exactly but I just do it. I'll post some #s later but I'm sure it's no more than 3,500 RPMs.
