i did a search, but anyways, i have an injen race division cai on my auto 2k1 coupe ex. i read that aem makes a bypass valve for their intake. I have not read anywhere that injen is requiring one for their intake. can you all help me out and tell me why i need a bypass valve and if injen requires one cause i havent heard anything from injen stating this. thanks for your help guys/girls

itzwolf is an unknown quantity at this point
They are to prevent water being sucked through the intake into your engine. The valve opens if the pressure drops in the CAI. Where I live it's a very good thing to have (Florida land of rain).

you donot NEED bypass valve for CAI. its like extra stuff. just to be safe for hydrolock... i took off my injen cai and sold it cause too much rain and weather in wisconsin.. sucks.. and i dindt want to buy bypass cause im poor
but aem bypass can help you alot 50 bucks or so on ebay
2.5 aem bypass will fit on INJEN CAI

not a requirement..more like a safety measure.

then again, my comfort is still in the box...i've had the valve for the past month or so...and I've been too lazy to install it.

anyone live in ottawa and want to do it for me?

a by-pass is like insurance. and your cai is the liability.

the only time it will work is when the filter is submerged or dunked into water. it wont do anything for splashes, like a car wash.

you may never need it but it is alot cheaper than geting you car fixed for sucking up water$1200++ & the time without a car.

injen wont advertise the need for a bypass valve because their main competition aem makes it.

the splash /heat sheild does nothing save your money. it wont save you if your filter gets submerged.
