This won't exactly answer your question, but maybe (cross your fingers) it will help. I noticed paint chipping off my bumper right beneath both taillights in the exact same spot. Wasn't very noticeable, but it could have been the start of something big. I took it to the dealership, and they said they were having problems with that and repainted the whole bumper for free. So, if you check beneath your taillights and have paint chipping off, then you should be able to have it repainted by Honda for free. Good Luck!

$500 (U.S.) to replace my sedan rear bumper. That includes all parts, prep, paint, labor.

I have this same problem! There is black beginning to show underneath the left tail light, and at first I thought someone hit the car. This explains it...

yea.. thats about right.... 500.00 for a new bumper. wow, that horrible. but what do you expect, it is the from the dealer.
in my case, some mother f'er ran into, or cratch my rear bumper and it was a hit an run. bad thing is it was a while ago, so i dont know when it actually happened. of course, now i cant do anything about it now, and insurance wont cover it.
so... lucky me, i have conections at honda. and a new bumper will cost me about 135.00-145.00, and paint will be about 100 bucks, and installation will be free i think.
on a side note.... you know honda charges about 90 buck for the styrofoam reinforcement in te rear bumper. ripoff!!
