the forums on here.
But 2003 appears to be the year virtually all Japanese manufacturers will drop the 280 HP limit, and though we have no confirmed sightings of the new NSX design, the appearance of the S2000R would suggest Honda is now confident it can release the new NSX for 2003 as well.

I just have to say: is this all a hoax? That website is nothing more than that article, and some pictures of what looks like a family reunion. Just go to the base site Here, and look. There's no page saying what McClatchie is, like a magazine, car rating agency, or anything else would have. That makes me think this is all crap.
Also- no alternator (he calls it a generator). BS. Eventually, after periods of not braking enough, the cells will lose all energy, and the air conditioner, stereo, and engine will not work. Not that much energy can be obtained by braking, the Insight only gets little amounts of power, not enough to do what this person claims can happen. That's just pure physics, unless Honda found a way to be more effecient about getting energy from braking, and this would have been all over CNN just as the Insight's brake recapture system was. Also, ever felt a lithium ion battery pack? Very heavy! Lift a laptop battery, now think that that battery will only run a laptop (a very low energy device) for a few short hours. Now think, running a stereo, ECU, sparking the spark plugs, electric motors for power steering and braking (never heard of this before either). We're talking a lifetime of minutes at best, not seconds. Gotta suck to have to slam the brakes every 2 min to keep the car running.
As great as this would be if it were true, I would have to say that it's just impossible.

It's a hoax..!!! If they were offered the car for a test drive, surely they would've taken pics... and WTF are these guys? I think editors from Evo, Car & Driver, and Motor Trend would've had first stab at this car.. besides, Honda does not supply cars for comparison. They usually release their new cars at car shows anyway.. especially something this ground breaking.

current s2k has 9kred line rpm. and a six speed tranny. this is bs. honda is not stupid enough to make s2000faster than the nsx. currently honda's fastest 4 wheel is the nsx-r
BUSTED!
Run a (.25)(PI)(d^2) on their engine spec (boreXstroke).
Total displacement comes out to 1.999 liters not 2.999 liters as claimed.
BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
there is NO WAY IN HELL THEY ARE GETTING 360 HP FROM 2 LITERS!

This could be true. I dont see why it wouldn't be. Unless some body had to make a web page for school and they made this thing up? I haven't heard of this and i usally hear of everything. The story about the NSX is true. My buddys GF's dad is getting one.
I'll say that it is true and just wait to see if it is. Honda has to start making some power some time soon. and this could be the year to do it. with the STI and the GT-R and the W8 coming out in the next year Honda will be left behind and might never make it to the top again. the only car they have is the S2000. They messed up getting rid of the lude.
my 2.5 cents

I'll say it's true...however thee are prototypes..the actual versions released will probably be toned down. Also.. by using the starter/generator to aid in breaking ic can generate upwards of 10 amps at 420 volts....this can keep things going..I'm sure if it's on the highway for a long time as well the generator begins producing power.
An inline 6 is ludicrous, massive tooling charges would be incurred.
Honda isn't going to do a v8 because of the research and the ill promising cost recovery
The only other inline honda has ever done was a 5 cylinder in the vigor, and it was a DIRECT audi rip-off right down to the longitudinal transmission. AND THEY GAVE UP ON IT.
I have not heard a single word about this car on any credible page (autoweek motortrend yahoo etc...)
And Honda is definatley not saying anything about it on their japanese page either.
(The vehicle does not exist over there right now)
There is only mention of a special type V with special steering.
here is all of hondas lattest "buzz"
there isn't much of it...
