crankshaft question

I did some searching and didnt find anything.

I was wondering what the advantages of having a fully balanced crankshaft were. i read in a magazine a while back that compared the two RSX engines and it said the type S crank had a fully balanced crankshaft. i saw pictures and they look different. so i was just wondering what the advantages and disadvantages are of a fully balanced crankshaft are. and if there are no disadvantages, why aren't all cranks fully balanced.

thanks
