YESSSS!!! I got off my Red Light Ticket today in Court...

Today was my court day @ 3 pm for a red light ticket, it was such a dumb ticket in the first place, i live in toronto, canada and we are allowed to make right turns on red lights as long as we yield the right of way to uncoming traffic who has a green...but your supposed to make a complete stop, and then proceed with caution...but i was turning right, it was wet and slippery out (winter time) and no cars where coming so i slowed down and made a right turn, and then i see a cop just driving, and he turns around comes after me and gives me a ticket for running a red light, he wrote --- RED LIGHT- FAIL TO STOP on the ticket, so ok i got my lawyer to take care of it for me and i went to court with him today and thank g-d the officer didn't even show up, so the case was dismissed and all charges were dropped instantly! it would have been 3 points and $190 ticket
but 0 points and $0,
Im so happyyyyyyy

and no one takes the time to go to the courthouse to get the ticket fine reduced to the minimum or taken off your record. Just b/c my car was loud i got a ticket for speeding. I know about the Pedestrian has the right of way but when the pedestrian is standing in the intersection for more than a minute? Isnt that obstruction of justice? maybe I should not have honked to get the old guy off the road. I would not wait for my family on the road, esp when they where a block and a half away. OH well, I can live with it. At least I got the speeding ticket dismiss, even without a hearing.

good job... wish i could get out of a ticket... I have them for tint, speeding x 2, wreckless driving (leaving 177 ft. of burnout, and then 66ft. more after he pulled me over)

As for Ricewashed, that was me. I'm just saying that going to court you can reduce your fine. Not many people know that. The last part is how I got a ticket. I honked at the guy to make up his mind. The car next to me was already in the intersection and I was just over the crosswalk. IF you have not guessed, the guy was on the otherside of the intersection. Never honk at a pedestrian in Cali. Not a good idea. One point is always better than two.

Here in Miami , they have traffic citation lawyers that specialize in traffic incidents, and they charge reasonable fees like $40 more or less everytime.

In any event, I take my tickets to court MYSELF and usually get off for free.

Pays to be intellectual.

It really wouldn't be that expensive compared to the possible ramifications of a guilty disposition on the original charge. By me, an attorney would charge about $300-$400 for a non-misdemeanor charge and could probably take care of it. Worth it in my opinion and not that expensive...
