just curious, my next mod will be a 50 shot of NX n2o. i have i/h/e and underdrive pullies. if i pulled up to the line against a new wrx stock, would i win? id probably be squeezing in 2nd gear and a little in 3rd.

no need to yell about how badly id lose, i was just curious. anyway what if that wrx had an auto tranny? car and driver (i think thats the magazine) stated because of the auto, it was sluggish. im not saying id win but i would have a small chance of winning. people go too much by the numbers alone.
so by the numbers:
wrx:
Vehicle type front-engine, 4-wheel-drive, 5-passenger, 4-door sedan or 5-door wagon
Base price $24,520-$25,520
Engine type turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve 2.0-liter flat-4
Power (SAE net) 227 bhp @ 6000 rpm
Transmissions 5-speed manual, 4-speed auto
Wheelbase 99.4 in
Length 173.4 in
Curb Weight 3100-3150 lb
EPA fuel economy, city driving 19-20 mpg
civic ex:
127 hp
114 ft/lbs torque
+ 50 shot n2o
torque jumps to over 220 @ 3500 rpm i believe
curb weight 2547 lbs
+ mods ive done...i have no clue what they have added actually cause i need a dyno.
this is a chance of me winning, slim but its still there.

I think you would have a chance, but you would have to remember one thing " Rubbin is Racin "

Considering that you would have to lower your 0-60 time by 2 secs, I really can't see you winning with a 50 shot. If you sprayed out of 1st with a perfect launch, you would probably lose with some dignity.
You could win a distance race with him. Set your cruise control to like 75-80 and watch him run out of gas a few hours later. But then again he could probable stop, fill up, and be on the road again before you passed him up. lol.

I agree with the other dream crushers. lol If you had two drivers that were equally good at driving each car, then the WRX would smoke the civic. But even if the WRX driver was a rookie and missed a gear, he'd probably still keep up with you. Sorry, but the truth hurts...
You guys are idiots.. i watched a black 7thgen with only intake and exhaust, and a 50 shot of NX take a wrx right here on the road adjacent to my apartment. those things are fast.. but the big deal about a wrx is how well the adapt to bolt ons. stock they get 175hp to the wheels. about the same as an rsx-s. the best thing about the wrx is AWD, and they have bada** launches. You can spray through every gear and just granny shift. as long as you've driven with nitrous before, and you have a little racing knowledge.. you should not let the wrx "own" you. In fact, a guy on this forum (can't remember who) had a wrx kill story using NOS

My two friends just raced eachother a few days ago. One drove his manual WRX (stock) and the other drove his dad's Jaguar S-type (4.0) automatic. The race was completely neck and neck and the WRX won by about foot. The guy with the WRX just got an intake, and a little experience, and beat the same jag by over a car length. Those WRX's are very quick.
a k20 civic w/ nox is just about the only civic on the road that would ever stand a chance against any wrx, the fact its anb auto also means the skill level of the driver doesn't mean anything....
