Honda's releasing a fuel cell car
sorry if it's already been posted, too lazy to search, sue me.... This is all verbatim from the Associated Press, so sounds like a reputable origin...
Honda To Begin Leasing Hydrogen-Powered Cars
POSTED: 12:32 p.m. EDT July 25, 2002
TORRANCE, Calif. -- Honda will begin leasing a four-passenger, hydrogen-powered car in California and Japan this fall.
The car will be available to government and institutional users. The FCX likely will become the first zero-emissions car available in California that is not powered by batteries that need recharging.
There are no immediate plans to mass-market it to consumers. The FCX is short for "fuel cell experimental."
It's modeled on the EV Plus, a battery-powered car that American Honda began leasing to consumers in 1997.
It carries 41 gallons of hydrogen, has a range of 220 miles and a top speed of 96 mph.

If it's a success, I'm sure it will, but other than that, it's all the article explained, no pics or anything. Sorry

hydrogen?? wouldnt that burn the engine? and also would that be kinda costly to pay for "Gas"

hydrogen is fairly cheap...
REMEMBER THE HINDENBURG... a hydrogen filled balloon, hydrogen was used because the Germans could not afford to place such a large investment into using helium.

it's the first one EVER put on the roads, fine tuning will come and eventually it'll become a lot more efficient... i think it's cool how the ONLY byproduct given off by the engine will be pure H20

hey if it releases pure h20 couldn't that reverse the green-house effect? that is, if like the whole world was using it I mean of course uh huh right like if ever possible, but --- wouldn't it?

I don't think it would reverse it, but it would definitely slow it down to some minute degree. After all, vehicles aren't the only thing putting out CFC's and noxious emissions . . .
