K20 is the engine. price is unknown however a member of this site is swaping in a RSX type-S engine in his car.
K20A is the engine, 220 hp around 152 for torque.
Extremely costly is all that should be said...however Area 51 in Cali succeded in swapping it into an EK hatch. It would probably require the same amount of work, if not more than the K20A2 swap being done by htown.

Also the differences in the type S and Type R can be done with a CAI and Headers to get close to the same numbers. I think the Type R engone however is a little better balanced and has forged pistons
I think the procedure is the exact same to swap in the JDM DC5R as it is to swap in a USDM K20A2. The only issue is the extra price you're going to have to pay for the Type R motor - you're looking at probably a few extra grand for about 12-15 extra hp at the wheels and an LSD.
If you can get a good deal on the Type R motor - I'd say go for it. Otherwise, you can get the same hp gain from bolt-ons and buy a Quaife LSD when it comes out shortly.

i believe there's also a bit of hand polished bits in the engine, also, similar to the b18c5.[hr]

Custom made connecting rods make the car handle high RPMs without much problem... but actually there's a lot more things that contribute to that.
You also forgot to mention the Type Rs have a limited slip differential that hella contributes to it's performance. The exhaust flow works better on the new K20A engine for the DC5R. The engine is lighter. Unlike the B18C5 or the B18CR, the VTEC in the K20A for the DC5R kicks in at 6,000 RPMs instead of 5,500 RPMs.
Has a red valve cover.
Is the best thing for the ES chassis.
... I f***in love this car.
