Would you trade your Civic for a Red Jetta?
If you could trade your beloved Civic for a Jetta at $4,000 below sticker, but the Jetta only came in Volkswagen Red, would you do it?

my friend just got a silver jetta. its pretty good looking. he lowered it and put eyebrows.

vw's are known for electrical problems too unless they got that fixed.

go for it. if nothing else, just to spite the morons who say it's a "girl's car". WTF is that? a pink beetle, maybe a "girl's car", but a jetta that can easily out-run, out-handle, and just plain waste a civic!?! i could care less who is driving, male/female/your dog.

Rep Power: 0 i always here that a jetta is a chicks car, but what makes it a chick car, i dont get it. i can see how the beetle is b/c it got flowers as a standard feature, but i dont see anything feminine about the jetta...other than a lot of chicks want 'em. but it is faster than the civic

Rep Power: 0 ok, tonight while I was out driving I noticed a few Jettas driving around. Most of them were, in fact, chic cars. Personally I think the Jetta isn't all that bad, however a red one would definitely be more of a chic color. At least in the Jetta. Now if you had Silver or Black, that might not be so bad. But to answer your question no, I wouldn't trade it in - IMO the civic is much nicer than the VW.
On a side note, if anyone EVER asks if they should trade in their civic for a new Ford Focus, I will personally drive to wherever the hell you are and b¡tch-slap you, because you are a RETARD.

Rep Power: 0 is it a 2.0L or a 1.8T..if it's a 1.8T I'd go for it... As for Jette'as being a girls car.. well most folks say a civic is a girlie car...so who cares..[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG].. but VW's are prone to elec problems.....whereas our7th gens aren;t prone to any problems whatsoever (please note an insane amont of sarcasm there)..

Rep Power: 339 If u like red, go for red. I like jettas, girly or not. Red isnt my thing tho. I wouldnt hassel myself with the trade-in for a red car. But thats just me, go for what U want.
no matter how problem-plagued the 2k1 civics may be (i've seen VERY few complaints about the 2k2's, and I personally have had a total of 0), volkswagens are far worse, and their general customer satisfaction level is much lower than that of Honda's. also, I've heard horror stories about VW customer service several times worse than anything on this site about Honda's. you should also ask why the jetta is going for 4,000 under sticker?

Rep Power: 0 If it makes you feel good, the Jetta is for Mexicans what the Civic is for Americans (almost an object of cult among young people). Not a girlie car at all south of the border.
BUT, if the Jetta is a 2.0 liter I definitely would not trade the Civic. The cheap Jetta doesn´t have power windows, CD, alloy wheels or sunroof. The bare bones Jetta costs as much as a Civic EX and between the EX and the Jetta the civic is way better and faster.
By the way, if you get the chance check on the last pages of the motor trend magazine, there you will see that the beetle and jetta 2.0 are the slowest cars in the US.

Rep Power: 310 everyone i know that has a jetta has had problems. either electrical problems or things like body moldings falling off. imo the cars are not built well.
