Newbie Engine Question: Is this normal?

Hi. I just got my Civic Si (EX in USA) last week and I have two concerns. First, when the car is idle, the car vibrates a little more than I would expect. My mom has a 98 Accord and it never vibrates as much as my Civic. I can understand that the engine is new but its still a concern. The second is today when I started the car. Normally I would turn the key for about 2 seconds and the engine would start no problem. But today, I had trouble starting my car. Its summer and granted its cloudy, it wasn't all that cold. Twice I tried to start the engine and it didn't start. On the third try it started normally. I know these aren't big problems but on a 1 week old car, I'm getting worried about my engine. None of these things have ever happened to my family's Honda cars including a 93 Prelude, earlier Civic, earlier Accord and 98 Accord. Thanks for your time and any help.

something is definitely wrong, take it back. the only time when your engine vibrates at idle and feels like its going to stall is after you install an aftermarket intake.... then still some doesn't even do that (mine does occasionally). the starting thing, i've had to try a 2nd time to start my car once in a long while but its no big deal and it's definitely not 3 times.

Yeah, it needs to go back. But it shouldn't be any big deal.

I had the same prob but it went away after the car broke in. The first time it wouldn't start i was pissed but it stoped doin it after like 1000 miles or so. it also was rough at idle but that went away too. i'd say wait till like 1000 or so and if it is still doin it bring it back.

Same problem here. When the car was new, sometimes it had trouble starting, but it starts up now just fine.

its kinda hard to say w/o actually seeing it and what its doing....but i used to work at a dealer and we had a lot of cars come in that do that stuff.......the biggest prob was, believe it or not, people had a bunch of things on their key rings, not necessarily keys but things like big keychains that are metal or aluminum and that would cause a prob w/ the immobilizer system. so i would suggest just taking you single key off the key ring and try and start it a couple times w/ they key by it self. peace.....

i'm not sure if that's supposed to happen - my car is literally silent and doesn't move a hair at idle

If I let my car sit in the sun too long, it wont start on the first try.
