Define "rice"
My definition of rice:
a mod that has no purpose, which makes the car look dumb, and retarded
apr spoilers are NOT rice, they add down force, which pushes your car down at high speeds, not offence but, altezzas are rice.
your flames/opinions are welcome

I'm gonna have to disagree about the gigantic aluminum spoilers. Unless you're driving a Formula 1 car, there's no way in hell you need downforce like that. On a civic, all those things do is create drag. I'm fine with most spoilers, but just hate when people say, "oh I have it because it creates downforce"......sorry bro, JMO.
But, if you go to a domestic web forum, they'll tell you that anything Japanese is rice, so people have different opinions, who really cares?

wait my civic has a stock spoiler so now im rice fvck that i do have altezza'ss but they do look very clean on my white car i think rice is something that makes the car look cheap most people who have rice cars are people who dont know how to mod a car for ****
What is a ricer you ask?A ricer is defined as a person that knows very little if anything at all about automobiles and speaks or acts as if they are hardcore racers (usually drag racers). Typically ricers will put stickers all over their cars to imitate professional racecars that have sponsor stickers. A ricer will often modify their car with simple and easy to install parts that may or may not be beneficial, and claim outrageous performance gains without fully understanding how or why that part affects their car. An example of this could be someone installing a cheap 3” intake pipe with an open element filter to replace the stock intake piping and air box, not knowing that a 1.6L engine that only produces 125hp can not create the velocity needed to produce good torque or horse power with such a large pipe, also neglecting to understand that the filter is pulling hot air from the engine compartment. Another example of ricer behavior is joining discussions with people that have experience and knowledge on certain topics and arguing about that topic without even understanding what they are arguing about. Ricers do not understand how silly other people think their actions are and typically do not learn anything about racing, eventually growing out of the fast car phase in their lives and move to other hobbies.
Rice is either something that dosnt belong on a certain car, something that someone dosnt like on a certain car, or a piece that someone is jealous of on someones import.
Do a search im sure theres a million or two of these kinds of threads.

It's funny how everyone has their different opinions on what they consider "rice." Some people may consider 90% of all cosmetic aftermarket parts rice. Some people may not light hyperwhites (or ricerwhites). I like Neo's definition of rice.
So I guess to the individual, rice is in the eye of the beholder.

Thats a pretty good definition. I agree, also, I say ricers are guys that can't respect domestics, and bash them, and think they are crap, they obviously have an opinion, but some hate just because they have no idea, and think they are the shizz

there's no true defnition of "rice" and that's why everyone has different opinion. Just let them do whatever they want to do. It just makes our car look nicer.
this "rice" term is being used to damn much...if you say parts that are useless in the car's performance is rice then what is "your" body kit, 18 inch chromed out rims, dress up interior, indiglo gauge, street glow, etc used for then?? its basically all for show...if you don't like something and call it rice...what you have is also rice so think about it...

Everyone has their own definition, but certain things are universal IMO.
- L.E.D. windshield washer nozzles
- chrome wheel covers
- fake rotors
- McDonalds' like color schemes
- body kits that don't fit in with the cars' style
- shopping cart wings
- oversize rims (19's for the 7th gen IMO)
- lots and lots of stickers
However, there are a ton of things that are normally not rice, but can be done in such a way as to come out as rice. You need taste and an understanding of how your cars looks like to an outsider to not create rice. Be a non-impulsive shopper and be conservative. This usually yields a balanced ride.
