The Future Of HighWay!
Alright, right now i just heard that in sand diego in ca is now in process a computer power highway, that means that everybody will stay the same distants and speed, then you press a button to go off ramp or exit, and your on by yourself again like regular driving..that means i cant race in the freeway no more if they put it everywhere in the future!!!!
Yeah like my grandpa was saying the same cars are still out today they still run on gas and oil so maybe by the time I get close to his age we will have something besides a car and faster
but who knows LOL

For those people who want to go the same speed they need to get on the metrorail or bus.

sounded like a good idea, but what about emergencies? plus if it's controlled by a computer of some sort, you'd have to deal with software problems and/or hacking of some sort

yea..thats part of the problem they are discussing right now like "what happen if it malfunction?" yada yada yada..and ill get recent news soon if i here something new...but if they do put that, everybody could go faster and without cause of traffic and accident and plus, you can relax on long @$$ trip like from NY to CA!! LOL and yea.....
doesnt this sound an awful lot like that new movie minority report??? only they used magnets or something if that happens it wont be for at least another 30 years, i mean who has that kind of money especially when our economy is going down the $hitter.

It won't happen anytime soon. Think of the millions of cars and hundreds of thousands of miles in pavement that would have to be retrofitted. No way, the roads and vehicles are roughly the same now as they were 50 years ago and probably will 50 years into the future as well. Of course, the cars themselves will be better overall with luxury, safety and fuel economy.
Minority Report... that movie did a really good job in predicting the look of the future IMO... everything seemed to fit. It's the first movie in quite a while that I actually loved. SEE IT if you haven't! I got in free because my friend works there and she gets free tix for anyone anytime

Minority report was pretty good and i think it had some pretty accurate predictions (i want a comp like that )
but things like this probably arent too far in the future, i doubt any of us will be alive when it happens though
were making things that are leading up to great accomplishments such as this one and we probably wont be around to see the culmination of a lot of things (which blows IMO)
then again were ruining the world and it probably wont be livable when they do have this so i guess that defeats the purpose of making it
, but thats a whole other topic

actually what theyre doing isnt as raddical as what you see in minority report. all they are doing to the highways is putting magnets (about the size of a roll of quarters) in the middle of the lane about 3 feet apart from eachother (equidistant). then special receivers on the bottom and front and rear of the car monitor the magnets on the road and and the distance from the car in front/rear of it and adjusts the cars speed accordingly.
im sure its still gonna take time and taxpayers' money, but the idea is not that far off from reality. the cars are still the same as they are now, just with some new sensors and regulators and such.
on a side note, anyone can have a laser these days for like $15...just get a pointer or something, that counts . and the flying car is also in development right now. there was a thread about it like a month or 2 ago. its really pretty cool.
i personally would like to go my own speed when i drive, thats what im still one of the few people that actually likes to drive my car...imagine that concept...LOL so i hope they only make specified lanes like this, maybe something like the carpool lane.
