Here's an idea lets overhype imports once again! I was into imports and performance long before The Fast and the Furious, but the money wasn't rolling in. Now I'm starting to get money and because I'm working on my car I'm the one that looks like a wannabe ricer or something. Because of that movie (which I did enjoy however) there are kids going around knowing nothing about cars getting rims and trying to be cool. This is only going to bury the true enthusiast even more into the ground.
strider; I disagree with you. I think that F&F has helped in some ways. I can say that since the movie, some parts have become more widely available even if ricers are buying them without knowing anything. Also, anyone with any knowledge of cars can spot an enthusiast and seperate them from a ricer. I can tell when I see someone that knows about cars and their car in particular. Then you see the ones that just want rims, altezzas, and a loud exhaust. I don't fault them, if thats their thing. Sorry about getting off topic a little.

Sorry about the above rant... it just gets on my nerves sometimes. Deejai35, I agree with what you said about the parts becoming more available, and for the sake of trying to find parts... that's a real good thing. Anyhoo-

holy crap! as cool as it'd be to have my car in ANY movie, i def wouldnt agree to all that BS to do it....i mean you're like saying here you can do whatever you want w/ my car, as long as you pay me in the end. no thanks
but on a side note, i hope F&F 2 is WAY more reaslistic than the first one....and hopefully its just better all around. cause i was watching F&F the other day and i was thinking how nice it'd be to have something like this movie, but more realistically representing the "community"/"scene" that it was supposed to be sorta representing, ya know? whatev' just my opinion.

You know that every ricer from everywhere will show up. I hate that movie. All it did that was good is bring up kids in a cavelier, 89civic, 88 accord and what not and try to race. Notice try. The movie did no good whatsoever. Not only that but it killed the uniqueness of tunning. Everyone is copying the tunner and it really pisses me off.

Bunch of high school stunnas wearing visors (at night nonetheless) gather at a Sonic late at night. Employees scold the riceboys for parking and not ordering any food. Stunnas tell the Sonic guys to screw off. Some old-school Vette cruises through, then suddenly does a wild rear wheel burnout in the middle of the parking lot, then drives off. All the riced up cars file out one-by-one and go to the street race location. When they get there, cops are already waiting for them. Everyone goes home because they have to wake up early for school the next day.
Not too entertaining, huh?

Watch the wording..."up to 100 per day" "may be painted" "WILL be altered"
If is legl mumbojumbo so they can more or less do anything but ruin your car. I'm sure they will put it back to your specs when they return it though.

i really dont see what the big deal is. im curious what they mean by "Your car MAY be repainted, modified, or altered" do they mean just exterior mods, or will they actually do something for the performance aspect?
but either way, if you dont like how your car looks theyre is always a chance of them buying the car off you afterwards, so youll have 25k from the fees, plus like another 15k or so from the sale of your car...with that money you can get yourself a whole new civic or better and mod that any way you like it.
PLUS, your car will be in a movie that is already so hyped up that its not even funny. maybe im just vain, but i think thats pretty damn cool concidering the 7thGens arent seeing that much limelight. if mine wasnt leased i would totally sign up.
Yeah but to make it entertaining they have to make it unrealistic. IF it was realistic, the movie would go something like this:
Bunch of high school stunnas wearing visors (at night nonetheless) gather at a Sonic late at night. Employees scold the riceboys for parking and not ordering any food. Stunnas tell the Sonic guys to screw off. Some old-school Vette cruises through, then suddenly does a wild rear wheel burnout in the middle of the parking lot, then drives off. There is no way in hell they would be getting my car for this.
Yet at the same time I would be curious to see what they would do to my car IF I did give it to them, and if you think about it for $25,000 you could buy a new car or pay off yours and it might end up being hooked up better than ever, but I would doubt that. I would like to see some 7thGens representin in this one.
Good Luck Guys
