Impatient passangers who can't wait to get out.

I have noticed an annoying little problem that really only bothers me when I have a passenger. When I pull in to park my car they start pulling on the inside door handle to get out. They can't open the door unless they use the little manual switch. i have control over the pwer lock on my side. But by the time I get my seat belt off and key out of the ignition they're pulling on that thing like nuts. Just ticks me off! Maybe I should've bought a DX! I am not upset at HONDA on this one, it's my impatient passengers who tick me off.

i heard that it's sometimes not a good idea to have your doors locked. the arguement was that if you got in an accident and were knocked unconscious (sp) the doors being locked would prevent medical crews from getting you out and keeping you alive. there was a story about a kid who lost control on the freeway and slamed into a bridge support pillar and died because they couldn't open the door to get him out in time. i never lock my doors, and if somebody jumps out and i run them over, i just laugh. not that it's happened before, but if it did...

most of my passengers do the same thing with autolock but most have learned not to have anything in the way of the shifter, I do not shift gently...I bruised my cousins knee twice when going into 5th.

what about those people who got their car jacked in the middle of the road? :-p i was watching some police chase show, and the woman saved her own life because her door was locked, and the thief couldn't steal her car

Dude if it is a big enough emergency then the people will break the glass..I mean not like they have to worry about replacing the glass especially if ther car is that badly crashed that the door wont budge....So it doesn't matter. Personally I'm more paranoid about people I don't want getting into the car at a stop light...thats the reason I lock them when I drive. If I get into an accident I'm sure the firemen have enough brain power to not sit there and pull on a door that wont open. Duh!!

"Hey goerge I cant get this door open and I don;t want to break the glass because it is a nice car."

"Bob....the car is FUBAR! Break the f*cking glass or get the jaws of life and force this sh*t open you wad!"

"Oh sorry goerge didn't think of that...."

*slap forehead*

Like I said I'm more qworried about carjackers wanting my civic then I am about a professional emergency responder opening my door after I rool over 10 times and slam into a tree....Which is unlikely since I have enough smarts not to drive that fast in order for that to happen. But anything can happen.

If you know like I know.... lock your doors. I have seen the news stories at night about people being car jacked at stop lights. You can be changing a CD and get caught off guard. All it takes is 2 seconds. As for passengers.... I have that problem too. Everybody wants to get out of the car before I unlock the door, and I hate when people unlock it manually. Its not that serious, just wait till I let you out.

I hate it when I have a big friend riding shotgun and my hand keeps hitting his knee when I shift into 5th. It kept happening again and again with one of my friends and I was like, "DUDE this is 10th time I have hit your knee shifting into 5th... will you PLEASE move your leg???".

hey, i'm just relaying what i heard. what if the jaws of life arn't there? i know you could break the glass, but it takes a bit of effort to do that and it's a lot easier if the door is already unlocked. but i do lock my doors when driving around town, i have a couple people that don't like me that my door locks can keep me safe from.

Yeah, the way my brother sits I'm always hitting his knee too. Bugs the fvck outta me. If it's a chick riding shotgun I don't mind though.

Regarding impatient passengers, this leads me to my next mod. Screw the bucket seats, I'm getting some F-16 ejection seats for my Civic. "You want out, biatch?" *Eject Right* *BOOM*

you dont need the jaws of life to get someone out of a car. handtools will do the same thing. thats what firefighters did before we got hydraulic spreaders put on our engines

Don't have that problem with the locked doors, but then again I don't lock 'em that often. And people in the back aren't a problem either, because they just can't figure out how to slide the passenger seat forward, so by the time they start yelling I would've already finished putting my sunglasses away and getting my CD-front cover out.
I don't get it. Why the hell would you try to press the seat-slide-forward handle with your hands when you can apply 10 times more power with your foot. Why else do you think Mr Honda put it next to your feet. If it was a hand operated handle, they would've put it higher up

my doors lock when i start the car and unlock when i turn it off. and most of my passengers wait till i actually park. but when a chick sits in the front and puts her purse under the parking brake i just get **** off. sometimse i can't put it down cause its tehre so i have to move it first. or other times i can reach under to pull it up..
i have a coupe and i HATE when ppl from the back step on the plastic peice to get out! why can't they just step outside. its not that much further. i always tell them and they keep doing it. i hate scuff marks on my car. always have to rub them off

You guys need to get your passengers to read your policy and rules and then sign the release BEFORE they get in the car like I do. That way there are no problems.

The general rule is lock your car doors when driving on city streets but unlock them when driving on the freeway. Your not likely to get into a serious wreck in the city, so lock'em up especially if you have a nice ride.

Yeah thats an idea get the paper work out and get them to sign it, and give them a copy for there records. Yeah I would rather drive just me I get better mileage and I have that seat to store CD's and stuff on and have the whole front area. Yeah if anyone sitting in the back they have to be on the passenger side my seat is way back I need lots of room.

Yeah that pisses me off because some of my passengers do that too. Some more annoying quirks: one of my friends consistently slams the door. I tell the guy that it's okay to just close it lightly, he doesn't understand. Also I hate it when my friends fight over shotgun and like start pushing my front door to the limit like a bunch of children.

As for locking the doors: living in Chicago, that's the first thing that I do. Anybody could easily get into your car and knock you out. As far as being in an accident, just bust the window, it's not that hard. Think about this: I heard that some people don't buy power windows on their cars because if they crash in the water, they won't be able to open it.

Oh yeah, it really pisses me off when people slam my doors. This is a toy sheet metal car dammit, not some 1979 muscle car chiseled out of granite.
